This room truly enhanced my experience on the islands and allowed me to maximize my enjoyment of the surroundings and views. The balcony overlooking the islands and facing the sunset, along with the huge window in the room, brought nature and the stunning scenery right inside, allowing me to enjoy the environment even when indoors. The room itself was spacious, minimalist, and beautiful. Everything was clean, the water was hot, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Beyond all the comfort of the facilities themselves, I want to praise the hostel owner who was kind and pleasant, available on WhatsApp for any questions or issues, and happy to help with recommendations for trips in the area. You can also rent bicycles through her for exploring the islands - definitely a recommended experience!

Located 8 km from World Heritage Wat Phou, La Folie Lodge offers accommodation overlooking the Mekong River. One of the most beautiful places in Laos - very peaceful and relaxed. The pool and garden space are beautiful and well kept. The staff were great to organize transfer from Pakse to the island, everything went smoothly.

Nicolas Family Homestay - Mekong Home is a recently renovated bed and breakfast in Pakse, where guests can make the most of its open-air bath and garden. I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was very clean, beautifully decorated with great attention to detail, and I had my own private bathroom. I felt comfortable staying with Nicolas and his family. What makes this homestay truly special is Nicolas deep local knowledge. He knows Pakse, the Bolaven Loop and Champasak extremely well and shared countless tips, including non-touristic places and his own custom maps. This was a huge advantage for my travels and something you rarely find elsewhere. If you’re looking for a place with a personal touch and genuinely helpful local insights, I can highly recommend this homestay.

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a plunge pool, mountain view and a terrace, Don Falang Homestay- Private Island & Beach is set in Don Det. Alex and Laymon were the perfect hosts. Kind and helpful, and so so welcoming. We arrived as customers, and left feeling like we were old friends.

Set in Ban Donsôm Tai, DON DET Souksan Sunset Guesthouse and The Xisland Riverview Studio offers accommodation with air conditioning and access to a garden. The location couldn't be beat: Right on the very tip of the island with beautiful sunset views, a cooling breeze, and lovely hammocks right outside the rooms and under a big tree for during the day when it was hot. Also has nice gardens, and it's private, and quiet. Xai is delightful as are all the staff. A special note: They provide cold water in a dispenser in the restaurant. It is much appreciated that I did not have to use the plastic bottles provided!!! Thanks Xai and y our family for caring about the environment.!

Pan guest house Donkhone is set in Ban Donsôm and features a terrace. Offering a restaurant, the property also has free bikes, as well as a public bath and a solarium. The guest house has family... Of the area it was to us the best — a pristine pool and a nice shaded area on the river for watching the sunset. Breakfasts were generous and the staff super helpful (with excellent English). We walked to the two different waterfalls on different days, and it’s easy to pop over the bridge to Don Det. Lots of restaurants in the area, too. Dry relaxing

Sompong sunset view guest house has free bikes, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in Don Det. Staff on site can arrange a shuttle service. Right on the river. Sunset side. Close to everything but still private. Laundry and bike rentals right there. Go eat at tevendang restaurant. On other side on the way to the bridge. Her food and kindness are amazing.
