The room is perfect and looks even better than on the pictures. The balcony and the view from there are amazing and you can watch the sunset from there. What I want to point out especially are the owners, they are very friendly and take very good care of you. I had food poisoning one night and they took care of me and even drove me to the doctor on the other island. I can highly recommend staying there, the price is a bit higher than in other places but it’s more than justified for what you get.

Located 8 km from World Heritage Wat Phou, La Folie Lodge offers accommodation overlooking the Mekong River. One of the most beautiful places in Laos - very peaceful and relaxed. The pool and garden space are beautiful and well kept. The staff were great to organize transfer from Pakse to the island, everything went smoothly.

The room was very clean, beautifully decorated with great attention to detail, and I had my own private bathroom. I felt comfortable staying with Nicolas and his family. What makes this homestay truly special is Nicolas deep local knowledge. He knows Pakse, the Bolaven Loop and Champasak extremely well and shared countless tips, including non-touristic places and his own custom maps. This was a huge advantage for my travels and something you rarely find elsewhere. If you’re looking for a place with a personal touch and genuinely helpful local insights, I can highly recommend this homestay.

Breakfast is one of the best I had in Indochina, and every Dinner is a unique experience of best authentic Lao food. The private beach is small, but completely sufficient for the small island community. If you feel like going out, someone will bring you over for free in no time. Else you can chill in one of the many hammocks and just let the world flow by.
