Tommy & the villa were recovering from cyclone Ditwah and were in the process of drying out from some serious flooding. Luckily I'd booked the AC room so I wasn't canceled. The efforts to make me comfortable were truly outstanding. Tommy is a backpacker himself so knows the game and is a wealth of information to get around unspoilt, unrushed Delft Island, the "old" Sri Lanka. Pure magic. I spent an extra day, & then squeezed in a day visit to nearby Nainativu (which shouldn't be missed) on the return trip to Jaffna.

The owners are lovely! We had a beautiful stay. The huts are very spacious and super clean. The mosquito nets are new! And we had a little bonfire in the night! Would definitely recommend it :)

Lovely place, I liked it so much I extended my stay. Very peaceful place to come to unwind. Cony is an excellent host and great to chat to. The food is really tasty. Private beach is beautiful and it's a short bike ride from the village. Sunset boat trip is also fab.

The location was very convenient, making it easy to get around Jaffna. The owner was extremely understanding and helpful, which made the stay even more pleasant. The place is maintained to an international standard and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. It was well equipped with all essentials—pots, pans, plates, spoons, an iron, and more. There were also plenty of water bottles, tea, sugar, and milk provided, which allowed us to settle in comfortably without any hassle at the start of our stay.

Set just 8 km from Nallur Kandaswamy Temple, Dayanithi Guest House features accommodation in Jaffna with access to free bikes, a garden, as well as full-day security. Ravi's guests house proved to be an excellent choice for our 4 days in Jaffna. This 1950's house is in a very gracious style with high ceilings, large rooms and a large reception/lounge area; decoration is in a simple classical style. A possible bonus of the high ceilings and solid construction is the fact the house is suprisingly cool to the extent we did not have to run our room's air conditioning. The bed and bedlinens were very comfortable. The house is located in a very quiet area with no dogs barking, no roosters crowing and no traffic noise. From a tourists perspective, Jaffna, and it's surrounding area are a bit of an unknown, but we found it to be a sprisingly interesting trip with a lot of history. Both of us are glad we made the effort to drive up to Jaffna and extremely happy with our stay at Ravi's Dayanithi Guest House.
