The location was excellent especially if you are looking for a nice and quite vacation. The staff was so polite and extremely helpful. The dive shop was amazing and the instructors and dive guides were exceptional. I would 100% recommend this place to stay at. The food was really good especially for vegetarians they did their best to cater to people's food choices. Everyone was so welcoming and just so nice to talk to. They showed us the true meaning of Filipino hospitality.

Wunderschöne Hotelanlage, super Essen, tolle Zimmer mit angenehmer AC und ein schönes Restaurant mit atemberaubendem Meerblick und tollem Ambiente am Abend. Das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Es wurde bei der Anreise ein Boots Transfer von Abra de Ilog organisiert, der uns direkt zum Hotel brachte. Der Besitzer stellt sich den Gästen vor und fragt ob alles in Ordnung ist oder es Wünsche gibt. Das Hotel ist ein Ort, an dem auch viele Katzen ihr Zuhause haben. Alle sind sehr tiertlieb und es steht immer genug Futter und Wasser bereit. Die Katzen werden auch medizinisch betreut. Da uns Tiere sehr am Herzen liegen, war dies auch der Grund warum wir uns für dieses Resort entschieden haben. Die Tauchgänge waren toll, mit super professionellen Tauchguides. Der Bootsmann Christian war immer eine große Hilfe mit dem Equipment!!

We have been traveling around Southeast Asia for about five months now, visiting 6 or7 countries, and we’ve realized that it’s not the nature, food, or history that stays with you the most, but it’s the people. Our first week in the Philippines, while staying in Manila, wasn’t the best experience. But everything changed once we arrived on Mindoro Island, and especially when we stayed at Macrina’s place. Macrina and Ligh are two of the kindest, most welcoming people we’ve met on our journey. Every morning we had a different breakfast, and it genuinely made us excited to wake up. Almost every night they invited us to join their “family dinner,” completely free, and the vibe felt exactly like that -warm, homely, and full of care. The food was the best we’ve had in the Philippines, and the way they treated us made us feel not just like guests, but like long-time friends. We’re already looking forward to coming back and visiting Macrina and Ligh again. If you want a place with real heart, this is it.

Ver picked us up from Calapan port in his car because we couldn't get a boat to Balatero port and it was such a relief after a long 3 hour boat ride from Batangas to Calapan. Ver is probably the friendliest po I've ever met. His vibe, the way he talks exudes friendliness. I liked the location as well. It's just well situated in the middle of the hill, no tourists which is good but keep in mind that you'll need earplugs since there's a lot of noise from dogs barking, roosters going crazy at 4am in the morning, etc. Had an excellent stay at Ver's place. I highly recommend his place!

Also the place has all the amenities needed for everyday life. Everything went smoothly and i did not encounter any problems at all. I would surely book again at this place next time.

Highly recommend Galera Lodge! The staff were very friendly and our room was super comfortable. The food and drink at their cafe is delicious and it’s a great place to sit and do some work. They have lots of lovely animals and the hotel is in a great location for diving with Reef Haven - just a 5 min walk down the road.

Staff cleaned the pool daily and provided home-cooked meals (additional cost) directly to villa. Staff is onsite throughout the day with security at gate from 6p-6a. Highly recommend stay.
