The family that takes care of the casa is so nice! They had stocked the pantry with all the essentials and more. Fresh oranges to make juice, hams cheeses, etc. I also loved the breakfast basket in the morning. So thoughtful. The room is big, plenty of space to be comfortable. If I go back to the Douro valley one day, that's where I want to stay.

We booked a weekend getaway there and everything went so well: the rooms are new, clean, the view is fantastic, the host is friendly, that’s a true hidden gem in Douro! Perfect value for money.

We loved the reception by Mrs Julia, who was very kind and friendly. She gave us tips on restaurants nearby. We also enjoyed the wineyard at the bottom of the hotel and that we were allowed to walk around at any time. The place is very calm and quiet, perfect for a escape from the city hustle and bustle. Mr Jose was also of extreme kindness setting us up with a lovely boat tour through Douro on my bday. We had just asked where we could arrange for the tour and he went all the way calling the person and helping us organize. Breakfast was delicious and all the staff was really attentive. We highly recommend a stay with them!

I Castelo de Paiva, 43 kilometer fra Castelo de Santa Maria da Feira-slottet og 48 kilometer fra Dragão fotballstadion, ligger Costa D'Ouro. Location was amazing after a trip to the city. Our daughter loved being able to walk to the beach and see the ducks. We did it 3-4 times a day. The location was nice if you have a car, being able to drive 30m-1hr to attractions didn’t bother us.
