Less than 1 km from Salado Memorial, Gateway House Studio Apartments is a recently renovated property situated in Guimarães and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. The property features garden and city views, and is 1.5 km from Ducal Palace. The apartment has family rooms. The apartment (103) was very spacious and the property pictures represented what we experienced. The parking was ample. Entry to everywhere is by door codes, provided a couple of days before our arrival. The decor and facilities were very well thought through and met our needs. The cleanliness was faultless. We did have an opportunity to meet the owner. We suggested some improvements that could be made but he was already one step ahead and said these ideas I shared were already being implemented. We felt that the apartment could have been suitable to live in for much longer, it was that nice. Our 2 day stay was at the end of February and the air-conditioning quickly warmed the space. The WIFI worked perfectly. A 2-minute walk away is a large shopping center with plenty of restaurants and a large supermarket. Hint: a restaurant that we ate in, some 10 minutes uphill walk towards the castle, was Restaurante O" Pinguim. The food was absolutely superb and reasonably priced. We had the Sea Bass and it was very fresh and well prepared. The Tiramisu dessert was the best I've ever tasted.

Excellent location just outside the old city, so less noise, no tourists, but easy access to sites and good restaurants. Public parking ramp VERY convenient and inexpensive just a 2 minute walk down the street. Great coffee and pastries 3 doors down.

Room was great with big windows with a view of the vineyards. Bathroom modern and clean. Could have stayed on the property all day and just relax!

The house is spectacular. But my favorite thing about this place... Is the owner. I have stayed in a lot of private residences during my travels, but the owner here is simply amazing. She did everything she could to make my stay a wonderful experience. She personally picked me up from town to take me to her residence. She made an amazing meal for me. Additionally, I was having some hip pain, and she let me use her foam roller and she had some other solutions to make my hip better. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
