I had a wonderful stay at this hotel, which is perfectly located in the heart of Braga. A big thank you to the staff for accommodating us earlier than the official check-in time. The room was excellent, equipped with everything we needed, and despite the winter season, it was warm and cozy. Breakfast was both elegant and delicious, with a great selection of freshly prepared options timed perfectly for when you arrive. I especially want to highlight the avocado toast – it was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Braga.

The territory of the hotel is amazing!! Totally worth to walk around. The hotel itself is like a museum too) The personnel speaks English (that is rare in Portugal) and very polite. The bar with fireplace at cool night is very cozy and quiet. In the room we found chocolates, some fruit and flowers - so many nice surprises)) We could see the whole city from above from our room window on the 5th floor - amazing view! I absolutely loved the hotel)

This is a centrally located brand-new hotel beautifully decorated. The hotel is within the walled city of Valenca do Minho. There are many excellent restaurants and cafes nearby. The common areas and rooms were clean, comfortable and well set out. The bathroom was excellent with a soft light and an amazing shower. In the common area there is a fridge and a coffee machine for use by the guests which is a very nice touch.

From walking through the door, we were welcomed into a wonderful hotel. Given towels for the pool for a ‘cold plunge’ for some muscle recovery. The staff even put our washing in the dryer for us (Camino Pilgrims). Great restaurant recommendation did not disappoint. Beautifully designed hotel. Above & beyond expectations. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending & returning.

Excellent restaurants! Braga is known for its restaurants. I had one of the best meals in my life at Green Harvest (though it is pricy, I thought it was worth the cost. Others who are not looking for something downright startling but wonderful might not agree but)--they made a beet dish that I absolutely adored. And I HATE beets. Braga is a smallish, easy to walk/navigate town with a lot of good restaurants, some very sites, and a cool and tranquil vibe. We were sitting at a cafe and a student group from the university showed up and did a music/dance performance. I am told there are more festivals in Braga than anywhere else in Portugal, but we were there in January so there weren't any during that time.

This small city was an absolute gem - stunning ancient squares and streets filled with lovely cafes and restaurants, altogether not as touristy as it could have been and very easy to walk around. We dined in two of the main squares with traditional Portuguese cuisine and inexpensive wines, and lovely ice cream outlets. We took the cablecar up the hillside and walked back down. We visited the Ducal palace (fantastic reconstruction) and castle (ruin). We could easily have spent a week here relaxing and taking in the atmosphere. And very easy to reach from Oporto.

Intertesting port town with a huge monastery on top of a hill. Loved the restaurants and it is easy to drive to other areas of Northern Portugal from there. The weather was comfortable, too. Be sure to bring Euros for tram ride to monastery. We went there to rest and relax between our Spain and Portugal tours.

We downloaded a free walking app that we hope picked up all the main sites. However, there were lovely walks along the river banks, plenty of interesting restaurants, the Vinho Verde centre and friendly wine bars; all of which we had no time to sample.

You can e.g. rent a Pedallo at the Rio Caldo. In October there are not many shops open anymore but with a 20 Min. drive, you will find a supermarket. Also within an hour drive you'll find nice mountainside places worth to visit - trekking is definitely great in the area

It a lovely town have a chilled vibe. It is is easy to walk and finding parking wasn't too bad either. It's a good place to base yourself if you have a car as there are many good attractions not far by car. There are loads of good restaurants. There are a few scenic things to see such as the bridge, the water clock, some murals and a lovely boardwalk along the river. Don't miss the science centre (Centro Ciência Viva). They have a lovely river beach and awesome municipal pool. I have also attended the medieval market and reenactment of a historical battle (recriação histórica do recontro de Valdevez) at the Castle (Paço de Giela) - that was pretty cool. At Christmas time, be sure to go see the enchanted forrest (floresta encantada).

Valença is a lovely town half of which is still inside the fortifications. The restaurants and shops are friendly and accommodating the views from the fortress are beautiful. A word of "warning" the food is amazing and the portions HUGE!

Considering we stayed one month, it wasnt long enough. if you love unrestricted access to mountains, waterfalls, the fauna in northern Portugal. the genuine friendliness of the people, and the food, Gee Wizz , come and enjoy what they have on offer, an example of the local people, we were climbing a steep road at the foot of a mountain near Ermal, and passed by a man cutting brush, once he realised what we were attempting, he gave us armfulls of fruit from his house, Kiwis, Apples, and Oranges, Just smashing, what a lovely guy.

Surprised by the obvious wealth amongst the Portuguese people with holiday homes here. Very few estrangers. Not for sailors. Good for families. Some surprising sculptures dotted around the esplanade from 1997 one in particular near the San Lorenca fort at Esponsende.
