Staff friendly and helpful as always. Staff member rang to tell us we had left charging cables in the room after we had checked out. Greatly appreciated.

This hotel is a hidden gem. The two stars are obviously no reflection of the provided service and a coo, but rather just a consequence of how effective the venue is managed with little staff on premises.
If you are travelling solo, a couple or a small family, this has everything you need.
The cleanliness is impeccable. Done on a daily basis and even when leaving the room as late as close to 12pm.
The continental breakfast, for the value asked is a bonus, and with top notch quality offer, including multiple choices of bread, yoghurt, milk, coffee, cereal, cheese and ham!
I only regret not having the chance to take advantage of the outsourced services of in room dining and massage(!).
There's limited parking, but if you're lucky, one of the four free spots is yours to take.

Great Breakfast choices, my nespresso latte was just right, the second one I enjoyed on the grounds outside the house. The girls at House recommended a highly rated restaurant for dinner. Meal exceeded our expectations.

Unfortunate with the weather, rained 90% in 8 days, however the whitewashed walls and decor of the villa together with mountainous views kept spirits high. Slightly misleading with the photos is that you are unable to view the pool from the accommodation- look at the villa as an annexe (substantial at that) with the main house in between pool and annexe. The owners were away whilst we were there and weather bad so beautiful infinity / jacuzzi pool never used, however I get the impression this area would possibly not be accessible if the owners were present or at worse case -shared - best to check beforehand - most helpful hosts. Many beautiful ornaments within villa and stairs down to underbuild / snug would not be suitable for young children.

I'm Portuguese therefore I know all the country and to me Guimarães is, along with Porto, the most beautiful city in my country! It's historical centre is magnificent! The castle, the palace, Largo da Oliveira and the surrounding streets and historical buildings make us feel like we are in the middle ages! It's truly magical!

Historic Center is good with lots of restaurants and courtyards. The cable car to the top of the mountain is a must do. It is 7.5 euros return. Residents take a lot of pride in their city. Most of the tourists are Portueguese . Prices are less than in the Algarve. Appears to be great bus service, but everything within walking distance.

Guimarães is an acient town where Portugal originated. It is quite small. It's enough for the Visitors who don't have any specific plans to spend 1 whole day to see all the most important historical sites in this city.

Some locals call it "The Heart of Portugal" because what became the country of Portugal began it's fight for liberation from Moorish Occupation here. The castle from then is still standing and is currently undergoing extensive renovation. The old city center is nicely preserved and is very walkable. Regional food is hearty and very tasty. While it is touristy, it is also a university city. Pretty lively with a good range of affordability in eating, staying, and shopping.

Guimaraes was a lovely historical town with a lot to see just walking around - historical churches, lots of restaurants and pretty sites. We went to Citania de Briterios (2,000 year old Celtic village) - a short drive away - and loved it. We could have spent longer here.
This hotel is great! Right in the old town of Guimaraes, just round the corner from the main squares, bars, restaurants, so easy to access. Everything was perfect and very comfortable. The breakfast routine was a bit funny, but actually quite nice - no buffet, everything served to you in a set order.
The staff was exceptionally kind!
Everything about the hotel was a very welcoming experience, you felt like you were definitely on holiday it was lovely. The staff were fabulous the room was clean & spacious and the breakfast was excellent lots of choice.
Excellent location, good free parking not too far from the hotel. The hotel is beautiful inside and the rooms were spotless and spacious. Staff was super friendly. Excellent value!
