What a great stay in Braga! Our only regret was that it was only for one night! The rooms are not only beautiful but very well thought out with everything you need in high quality. Our hosts were perfect, very kind and helpful, perfect welcome for us at our first day in Portugal! The room was very quiet as well because the window looks to the backyard. We definitely recommend it :)

It was compact and easy to get around, it is historic and religious so lots of cathedrals and churches to visit. It was the festival of Sao Joao while we were there so there were parades through the streets which was interesting. There are plenty of bars and restaurants. The public transport is really good and a must visit is Bom Jesus do Monte which is a short bus journey away. If you like craft beer a visit to Letraria and Mal Amado are well worth it. We found all the people in Braga to be very friendly.

Absolutely beautiful in my opinion.

Absolutely beautiful in my opinion. People is very friendly and helpful and is a good vibe all over the city. Is rich in history and has lovely churches. Food is amazing and you can find supermarket like Lild, continental etc if you rather make your own food. The area I stayed was near to the train station and it was very accessible to other places. Bus service is not the best, but you can get to many places on walking distance.

Very interesting town to wander around. Great for a 1 or 2 night stay. The annual Roman festival was on whilst we were there which was great fun. Lots of entertainment and stalls selling food, drink & local products.

We chose Braga as a base to visit The National Park of Peneda Geres (impressive), Ponte de Lima (very pretty), and Viana do Castelo (well worth a visit) so we did not spend much time in Braga. However a visit to the staircase at Bom Jesus do Monte is definitely worthwhile, along with the nearby Sanctuary of Our Lady of Sameiro. First-time travellers to the region should also try to visit Barcelos, and Guimaraes (the birthplace of Portugal).

Loved: friendliness of the people, helpful assistance and kind response of everyone (and I mean everyone!) I spoke with, prices, coffee, Turismo centre, efficiency of public bus system, city gardens, green maintenance and expansion (trees being planted, floral gardens maintained), lack of rubbish on streets, small museums so that you can choose by your interests... Challenge: I have a gluten allergy so it was a challenge for me to find eateries. Flour based foods are a basic in the Portuguese cuisine. I had a kitchen in my reservation so I shopped in local grocers where there was always access to glu-free products.

The Old Town, especially the center, is very interesting to visit and relax in. All the main attractions are within walking distance. Public transportation is excellent, so renting a car is not necessary for getting around the city. Also, if you're traveling in a group (3-4 people), taxis are convenient and inexpensive.

Room: "Quarto Encarnado". Very spacious airy varnished-wood-floored room, tastefully decorated. Located in an old house, so not a typical modern formulaic hotel room. Bathroom not en-suite, but situated close to the room with exclusive use. Located on the top floor of the building so excellent for cardiovascular exercise as access is by staircase only. Location of the accommodation was perfect, close to the old centre of Braga. Online check-in was fairly easy to negotiate. Instructions for access by email. Keys kept in key-safes.

Beautiful building with nice aesthetics. I loved the dark wooden headboard and shutters on the windows, which was very characterful. The small lounge area outside the bedroom was a nice touch. The breakfast room had large floor to ceiling glass doors that overlooked the garden, and there was a nice selection of food. The location is very central and just a few minutes walk to bars, restaurants, shops and places of interest. I would definitely recommend this hotel as somewhere to stay in Braga.

More than a hotel, this is an experience - and one I’d wholeheartedly recommend. Beautiful property, wonderful location in the heart of Braga, excellent breakfast, lovely pool and play area. Most of all, amazing and very kind staff - particularly Thaias on reception which saved the day for us printing last minute documents for an important visa interview. Every staff member we met had a kind word for us and our kid - we loved this hotel and will visit again (and others in the group).
