The breakfast and all the meals at the hotel were truly excellent. I would encourage people to stay at this hotel for the food alone, but the staff were all courteous, effective and helpful. This is a fine example of a fine family owned hotel with excellent food. The location in a pretty village about 12 miles from downtown Freiburg was very good for walking and enjoying the open air life.

The hotel managers and staff deserve a prize. This place is a gem. The hotel is so well kept. They have thought about every single detail so that you have a perfect stay. The room is completly renovated. The bed is very comfortable and wifi works perfectly. The bathroom had such an amazing shower head. I want to get the same for my house. In the bathroom, you will find bathrobes and extra towels for the sauna/pool, which are placed in a basket. Very practical. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Breakfast is a highlight. They serve freshly squeezed orange juice, a great selection of cheeses, local jams and many other delicious things. The heated pool and sauna are another highligh of this place. We went to the sauna and the pool multiple times. We also enjoyed sunbathing in the external area, which is decorated with very comfortable chaises. We were traveling with our bernese mountain dog and we got a room with a balcony, which was very practical considering the size of our dog. There is a park just outside of the hotel, where you can walk your dog (on the leash). Also important to note that, it was easy to park the car outside and they have a charger for EVs. The place is quiet and the other guests were discret and yet friendly. We look forward to going back.

It was very quiet and comfortable to stay with two young kids. The family room is big.

What a beautiful hotel in the best location (especially for the Christmas markets) the man on the front desk could not have been more welcoming and friendly, the concierge who brought our mountain of luggage was polite and prompt. The room was gorgeous, a big fluffy bed, large bathroom and view onto the markets could not have been nicer, must also be noted that this was the least expensive of the rooms we stayed in at the various Christmas markets towns but above and beyond the nicest. The bar was a great place to have an after market cocktail with the cool tunes of the piano man. Take the valet parking if it’s a busy time of year as it’s well worth it for the ease of parking outside and abandoning your car to someone who knows how to negotiate the trams! Great hotel.

The apartment was beautiful and well set out. It can be easily accessed from the main road and the owners were polite and helped when we had an issue. It was nice to be able to wash clothes and dry clothes during our holiday. The rooms were comfortable and offered all the amenities that were advertised. It was a fantastic stay and I would recommend it to anyone travelling around the Black Forest.

Great location, nice rooms, pleasant & accommodating staff. A lot of scenic interest in the area. The swim finished the day off nicely after touring around in the motorbike!
