The rooms were so beautiful and it was very clean. Matera is just a must. Loved our hotel, very centrally located. Everyone was very friendly.

Beautiful old farm transformed into a hotel. You can feel there like at home. Friendly staff, especially Enzo who can arrange anything for you. Nice pool (around 16 m) where you can really swim. Everything is almost perfect, architecture, even Masseria logo. Really appreciated our stay and rested. Thank you :-)

Great communication with owner, even sent short video of how to reach the property. The room was amazing, it exceeded our expectations. The location was excellent.

The hotel is actually a very nice authentic villa, on good location, cca 10min walk from the Sassi di Matera. It has a guarded private parking (important for Matera). The pool area is very nice for relaxing. The room was nice, well equipped and clean, with good WiFi connection. The breakfast was amazing! And the staff is extremely kind and helpful, as locals they will provide you with all the tips you need. Really a recommendation, especially if traveling by car.

Masseria Torre Spagnola is located within a castle and is adjoined by a large family-run farm. Beatrice is a proud, vivacious and very efficient hostess and member of the family. We honestly felt like we were being entertained by royalty. The property is located within easy driving distance to the spectacular city of Matera. Our room was designed and furnished to perfection, and it was impeccably clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were amazing and included freshly-baked sweet and savoury treats; eggs were also individually cooked when requested. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we were sad that we could not stay longer. We would highly recommend Masseria Torre Spagnola as a wonderful place to stay.

This is a lovely space, open, high ceilings, lovely infinity bath with shower. This room is excellently situated in Matera for all exploration of the area. Surrounded by good restaurants and bars. We had such a lovely stay after our wedding in Puglia. The host is easily contactable and gives excellent suggestions for food and activities.

Very special stay – a hotel run by historians providing a chance to experience the way of living during the ancient Greek period of Matera. Authentic (yet comfortable) rooms built in old caves (sassi). Delicate and high-level period interior design. Ancient Greek breakfast. Most wonderful of all for our tired and a bit frost-bitten travel group – a beautiful cave-spa to relax in. In additon we enjoyed the insightful conversations with the staff - young and enthusiastic archeologists. The promotional materials promised different ceremonies and historical costumes. First we were a bit worried as these things tend to be rather cheesy, done for commercial purposes. No need to be scared! Everything is very sendible, genuine and in good taste. The visitors can participate without pressure and be truly carried away to the distant past. Highly recommended!

Omg this hotel is beautiful 😍 we had the room with spa wow this was amazing. Matera is gorgeous like no other place I've been. Breakfast was great and Mario was delightful always happy to see us. Highly recommend this hotel ♡

Lovely decorated cave-dwelling, with very serviceminded staff, in a unique and fascinating town. The whole familiy would love to come back!

We absolutely loved our stay. Such a unique, beautiful grotta with everything we needed for an enjoyable and super relaxing one night stay. We never wanted to leave our accommodations. The bed was soooo comfortable. The pool was wonderful. We looked forward to our quick dip after our return from touring/dinner and then again after waking and again before bed, just because it was that amazing!! Everything was perfect!!! We highly, highly recommend staying here if you want a truly remarkable and unique stay while visiting Matera.
