Tucked away in Pottuvil, just a short walk from the surf point, this boutique hotel feels like a little slice of heaven. The design is so thoughtful — six cozy cabanas surrounded by nature, a beautiful pool, and the best mango lassis we’ve had in Sri Lanka. What truly made our stay unforgettable were the owners — a kind and welcoming Swiss couple who made us feel like part of their family. Their warmth, love, and attention to detail created an atmosphere that felt both homelike and magical. We loved being in this quieter corner of the coast, away from the busy center of Arugam Bay, where you can still surf, spot elephants by the beach (yes, really!), and reconnect with nature.

I’ve been coming to Arugam Bay for years. There is no hotel like Paddway in Arugam Bay, it has ALL the modern essentials. I loved that it’s located a minutes walk from the main road away from the sounds of ABay night life. Newly opened, brand new, modern design, amazing pool and loved that there is a yoga shala and daily classes. Food was really yummy at the restaurant. The staff was so welcoming, helpful and friendly. They organize surf lessons, had one of the best lessons with their very professional and motivating surf instructor Firdows. 100% worth staying here!

I’ve been coming to Arugam Bay for years. There is no hotel like Paddway in Arugam Bay, it has ALL the modern essentials. The highlight of our trip was definitely the stunning swimming pools, where we spent hours soaking up the sun and enjoying the tranquil atmosphere. I had a wonderful stay with my husband, and I would like to give a special thanks to all the friendly hotel staff. The breakfast was delicious with an option for Sri Lankan or English breakfast . The location is great, it’s located near the shops, restaurants and beach. The swimming pool is very big, and really refreshing & relaxing! I would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely come back here when we go to Arugam Bay again.

We had a great time in Spice Trail! Excellent location and very helpful staff. Himasha LEO showed us some nice places in the area and told us a lot about Arugam Bay & Sri Lanka. If you are going to Arugam Bay, you can't skip this place! The swimming pool is perfect.
