In beautiful Lakeland surroundings overlooking an idyllic brook, Glencree is situated between the villages of Bowness and Windermere. Located in a perfect location within walking distance of a number of eating establishments Breakfast and staff were extremely helpful. Had a room on the top floor with a vertical spiral staircase. Ask for this room. Provided parking which was also a plus. The rate should have been higher as one could not ask for more. Would have paid more without a second thought.

Located in Ambleside, 9.1 km from World of Beatrix Potter, Ambleside Salutation Hotel & Spa provides accommodation with a fitness centre, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant. A perfect hotel to stay while visiting the Lake district. Location of the hotel is in the centre of town. We had a very comfortable suite, service was excellent, very nice Spa and very good restaurant with super friendly waiters. All together we had wonderful stay and plan to get back in the future.

Townfoot Byre, Troutbeck - E.V friendly provides a hot tub and free private parking, and is within 5.5 km of World of Beatrix Potter and 36 km of Derwentwater Lake. Beautiful location, really cute kitchen, spacious bedroom, lovely modern bathroom. Would definitely recommend. Spa isn't on site but only 5 mins drive away. Great pool and sauna.

The Old Vicarage offers a sauna and free private parking, and is within 10 km of World of Beatrix Potter and 17 km of Lake Windermere. A very warm welcome into a stunning period building. Ample parking right outside. Very spacious room, with comfortable bed and sofa. The bathroom is also spacious and well equipped with a bath and separate shower. The toiletries were lovely. A good sized mini fridge was a bonus, alongside a good TV. The pre order breakfast option delivered to your room worked great, especially travelling with our dog! Hotel very walkable to local pubs and eateries. Would recommend for a stay in Ambleside.

Dating back to 1854, the award-winning Holly Lodge Guest House with FREE off site health club is quietly situated in the center of Windermere. Everything was perfect! The location was great for us, close to train station and just 20-30 min walk from Bowness (closer if you take the bus) and close to trails we wanted to do and to buses that take you to Grasmere/Ambleside etc. We spend 4 days hiking around and it was perfectly located. Breakfast was really complete and delicious with different options to choose. Room was spacious, clean and luminous with everything you could need. The staff was fantastic, the owners sent us detailed information on restaurants and trails around before the stay that was really useful and appreciated. I travelled with my sister and just to say that we will choose the same place to stay if we come back to the lakes.
