Situated in Ballyteige Bridge and only 22 km from Glendalough Monastery, Ballyteige Lodge features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. My goodness, where to even begin ! First , this is Not a hotel , nor is it a ‘B&B’ . This is a grand ole home that the owners have graciously opened to the public - on a small scale . If one is looking for the latest greatest ‘comfort’ bells and whistles , do not come here : there is no cafe on-site , there is no restaurant , no 24-7 at the beck n call ‘service’ . Instead , this grand ole home has the patina of History , a dining room where once upon a time Michael Collins visited ( and so much more ! : Sean with a lifetime of experience and stories can relate the unparalleled history of the property — dating back to 1800’s — in a spellbinding way ) . The whole building is filled with a well-curated collection of historical furniture and arts , decoration : yet accessible and free to enjoy : an afternoon tea in the drawing room ; the lush grounds that were established in 1920’s , the Japanese Garden . : And yes , the beds are comfortable ; rooms impeccably clean and cared for . There is no dinner on command , but if the property happens to be at full capacity ( 6-8 persons ) , the option of dinner Is available : and very well worth to partake . Patricia’s culinary talents and creations are well restaurant worthy ! It was a brilliant time to enjoy the company of happenstance dining companions : some from overseas on an Ireland tour to continue their roadtrip the next day , some hikers off The Wicklow Way which is just up the road . Great to exchange stories over a delicious meal . I , myself just wanted to needed to get away from the city for a spell with my two little dogs - looking for quiet and tranquility , I could not have picked a better place : Sean a most gracious host making sure I am well looked after while allowing me ample opportunity to just enjoy my time without interference or interruptions . Truly a joy . A quiet understanding , I felt as if a houseguest for a few days’ visit . Remarkable .

Featuring a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and views of mountain, The Deerstone Luxury Eco Hideaway is a recently renovated villa located in Laragh, 2.9 km from Glendalough Monastery. We had an absolutely amazing stay! It is so peaceful around you don't hear a soul, even though we know the place was fully occupied, and we stayed over the NYE. Roaming around the grounds, listening to birds singing and the river flowing in the distance was very magical. All of the saunas were fantastic; we took advantage of using all amenities, and it felt like we were the only ones there or using them. Loved the hot tub outside the hut!!! And most importantly, our doggie was delighted with himself smelling all the smells :). We will definitely be back!

Overlooking the sea and just a short walk from Arklow town, the hotel offers tasty food, an impressive leisure club and 91 rooms, some with spectacular sea views. Good location, lovely staff, good value and a late check out so could go to the spa

Set in Wicklow, 4.9 km from Powerscourt House & Gardens, Powerscourt Springs Health Farm offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. It was a stop off for 1 night on route to playing golf 30mins away the following day. Unfortunately we didn't get to use the facilities as we arrived at 9pm and left at 8am but what we saw looked excellent especially for the excellent value that we paid for our Wednesday night stop. Breakfast was satisfactory with a lovely plate of various fruits served before our full Irish breakfast. Reception staff who also covered the bar were super friendly and helpful with nothing too much trouble. It's definitely a place to return to (bringing our wife's) next time we journey in the area for golf knowing they will have a satisfying day in our absence.

Set in a Designated Area of Natural Beauty, the award winning BrookLodge & Macreddin Village has elegant modern rooms and extensive facilities which include an indoor-to-outdoor pool, Hammam massage... Hard to single out a particular thing as our two day stay was thoroughly enjoyable. All the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The smell of burning wood from the open fire in the reception lounge. The outdoors hot tub is so enjoyable. Everything in the spa is spotless and very well maintained (swimming pools, sauna, steam room) and comfortable. We did not opt for the fine dining restaurant but enjoyed tasty light food in the confortable bar-lounge.
