Built in 1903, the iconic Taj Mahal Palace stands majestically opposite the Gateway of India, overlooking the Arabian Sea. We stayed here from Dec 29 2024 to Jan 2 2025. I am writing this review soon after we reached home. This was one of our several visits to the Taj in the past few years and, incredibly, every visit tops the previous one. Often, one wants to try a new place although with the Taj, this is not the case. Somehow, it draws you back again and again. Sakshi helped check us in and stayed in touch throughout the stay. She took over all our matters as soon as we checked in. Which wasn’t easy given the hotel was at near full capacity and the pressure of new year eve preparations. We can’t thank her and Ritesh (the GM of the property) for making our family feel super special. The Taj Mahal Palace wing sets the benchmark for warmth and luxury. One has to stay here to set yourself a benchmark of what hotel stays can be like. If your travels bring you to Mumbai, stay here. Even if it is for a day. It makes life worth living!

The Nariman Point Oberoi is the finest Asian hotel I've stayed at in all my years. From a facilities standpoint, the structure is maintained superbly with stylish, fresh flowers all over, comfortable sitting and gathering areas, convenient restaurants, and easy access to rooms. As for the rooms, our floor was recently renovated and it rivals any Four Seasons in quality, perhaps even eclipses it. The Kohler-appointed bathrooms, the darkening shades, the unique light switches, and the hideaway luggage storage combined to make our stay comfortable and luxurious.

Traditional Indian welcoming, friendly & service-oriented staff everywhere ready to help, marvellous classic Indian live music & live piano music, beautiful light show at the pool, amazing design in the reception hall, great breakfast.

Awesome 👏 everything was so great! I mean this will be our go to hotel… the team is so great…mohak, Simran… and little HE-MAN karanji who we are so grateful and apologetic too for making him pick our very heavy luggage… I wish other hotels would learn a thing or two from the folks at Fairmont about true hospitality:) P.S. my husband said, the best eggs ben in the entire country :) and he is super picky about his egg Bens lol 😂

Very good hotel with great facilities and excellent staff. We had a great time. The breakfast was superb. The restaurant was great. They served great wine. They had great packages to visit the Ajanta and Ellora Caves at a reasonable price.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with kindness and care that truly set the tone for our entire experience. The hospitality was flawless—every single member of the team, from the doormen to the restaurant staff and the executive lounge team, went out of their way to make us feel at home. The level of service, attention to detail, and warm professionalism is something we’ll always remember. We want to give a special thank you to Mrunali, the concierge who made our stay unforgettable. She helped us organize incredible tours, suggested great local bars and restaurants, and was a constant source of support—especially when my wife felt unwell. Mrunali not only assisted with getting medication but also checked in on us regularly to make sure everything was okay. Her kindness and care truly made a difference. Our room was pure 5-star luxury—extremely comfortable bed, stunning view of the mangroves, and a beautiful bathroom that made it feel like a peaceful retreat after busy days exploring the city. Plus, gym and Wellness Spa were unreal. Taj The Trees is more than a hotel—it’s an experience. We’re so grateful for the warmth and generosity we received, and we can’t wait to return.
