Staying at MOYΣEION felt like stepping back into the world of Magna Graecia. The welcome ritual performed by Davide made the whole experience really special and set the tone for our stay. The service was outstanding, the staff incredibly helpful, and the cave pool was just breathtaking—my friend Pete especially loved the statues surrounding it. The togas, rituals, and attention to detail made the whole visit immersive and memorable. I also recommend booking an Ape Car tour through the front desk when you arrive—it’s the perfect way to explore Matera. Plus, if you call ahead, they’ll even arrange a pickup from the bus station, which is really convenient.

The food and location. I like the nature surrounding the masseria. It Is a very peaceful and magical place. The staff has been very friendly. We had dinner there and the grigliate and grilled veggies were delicious. Desserts were also very gnammy. Our room was enormous.

9 km from Palombaro Lungo, Agriturismo Colle Igino is a recently renovated property situated in Matera and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. Location was nice. Rural farm setting amidst rolling fields and pastures, yet withing 10 minutes of the old town of Matera. The host was very nice and helpful. The apartment had a nice terrace with a sunset view.

Set just 27 km from Castle of Melfi, Agriturismo Tenuta Lagala offers accommodation in Venosa with access to an infinity pool, a garden, as well as full-day security. 5 stars for this fantastic winery stay! The ownders were incredibly kind and fun, the food was exceptional, the wine even better! I loved talking with the owners, the room and facilities were beautifully done and very clean. I wish I could have stayed longer. Parking is available, the pool area is lovely and very relaxing, the breakfast which is included in your stay is so delicious and there is nothing better than a glass of wine looking over the vines that produced them! Loved this accommodation!
