Offering a seasonal outdoor pool and views of the sea, SETOUCHI RETREAT by Onko Chishin Adults only is situated in Matsuyama in the Ehime Region, 11 km from Matsuyama. This was the most impressive hotel we stayed in in Japan. Our room was huge, with one wall entirely of glass, facing a garden and forested area. Originally built as a museum, the architecture and art are stunning. There are only seven rooms, with just one room per floor. The dining was exquisite with very professional staff. We had a private onsen bath that was open to the outdoors on one side. There is a beautiful lounge (with free prosecco) that we seemed to be the only guests to use, and a dramatic and absolutely gorgeous swimming pool with a view of the sea.

Boasting an indoor swimming pool and a large public bath, Imabari Kokusai Hotel is located a 10-minute walk from JR Imabari Station. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Great luxury hotel, about 15 minutes walking to both Imabari Castle and Imabari train station. Great staff. Very Quiet, if your neighbors are quiet, not so if they are from a country where yelling in the hallways is normal. Great beds in a big twin room, smoke free building. Really great breakfast selections, nice warm heating. We stayed here for three nights, it was a real treat for the bargain price in the annex, you just have to walk a bit down the hallway to your room. Go try the great FunTable store for high quality conbini food, one block from the hotel, just after the Udon restaurant, before Uniqlo. Taxi to the hotel from the JR station is only 660 yen.

宝泉坊ロッジ features an indoor swimming pool and a sauna, as well as air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi in Kami-ōno, 17 km from Mishima Shrine. A fridge and kettle are also available. This was one of the most enjoyable stays of our trip. First of all, the staff were absolutely amazing, so kind and friendly, really made out stay! The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and then onsen amazing, so relaxing.

Situated in Matsuyama in the Ehime region, with Joshin-ji Temple and Matsuyama Shrine nearby, Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Dogo features accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a... The futon was very comfortable and after nice oncen i slept like a baby. The food were delicious too. The facilities were great.

Featuring mountain views, Okudogo Ichiyunomori provides accommodation with an open-air bath, a garden and a bar, around 5.6 km from Joshin-ji Temple. The hotspring facilities are all amazing. Especially, the private hotspring was quite comfortable and it was nice that they have several different options for it. Also, they have wide range of yukata which we can choose without paying any extra fee.
