Not a cheap one, but it is definitelly worth the money. We definitelly recommend to take a room with a view, seeing mountains in the morning was wonderful. We didn't have a ryokan-type room but were still amazed by the quiality of everything - cleanliness, design, etc. Our room had a capsule coffee machine, a set for drinking tea, hair brushes, hair pins and other small things that added a pinch of comfort to our stay. The hotel also provides guests with Japanese-style clothing: a set of a "shirt" and pants, and a yukata. You can walk in it everywhere in the hotel which was very nice. The hotel has public onsens on two floors, both have open-air baths. The staff is very understanding and would help with the rules of visiting. You can also book private onsens that turned out to be not very expensive. Sometimes the hotel holds special events. We managed to visit stargazing and saw Jupiter through a telescope while eating sweet potatos! The hotel provides a bus that regularly travels through the Arima village. You can also call the hotel to pick you up. The village itself is very beautiful. There is a ropeway to the nearby mountain. I heard you can also hike to the summit.

We had the whole place to ourselves, and the village is incredibly peaceful—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The common areas are great and easy to use, adding to the comfort. The room, the view, the quality of the food were all excellent. I also enjoy their spa, plus they have renovated the passage way to the annex and have now a sauna and a snack bar open rather late.
