DenmarkIt was the biggest room we had in Japan! We had our own private outdoor onsen. It was an amazing stay. We enjoyed the island after everyone left and then relax in the onsen after sunset. Highly recommended to experience Miyajma!

The hotel is old style but charming. The views from the water side rooms are spectacular so I highly recommend booking an ocean view room. In fact you can see the famous floating torii from the room but also from the fabulous outdoor deck. The sunrise was gorgeous. I appreciated the minibus that takes you directly to the station (and ferry to Miyajima island). I also recommend the excellent evening boat cruise to see the Torii at night. A truly magnificent sight.

Walking distance to Tori gate and central street/shore.
Choice/variety of food (especially for dinner).
Pool (though very small and not the cleanest but nevertheless very appreciated during August!)
Size of the room! Very comfortable for 2 of us, could accommodate even more of us
