The hotel seems a bit dated, but it more than makes up with old school charm. A lot of effort was put into creating an exquisite experience showcasing Japanese food and culture. The special care put into preparing the rooms, onsen and even the manicured gardens will draw you to stay longer at such a welcoming hotel.it is no wonder the current Emperor and Empress of Japan have stayed there a few times! A bonus that the hotel is located about a 5min walk to the start of the snow monkey park! Thank you for your kind hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and had fun wearing the specially prepared yutakas to walk around the hotel.

Featuring a garden, private pool and mountain views, HIEDA SANSO is set in Otari. The property has garden and quiet street views, and is 5.7 km from Tsugaike Kogen Ski Area. Location was excellent. The house was large.

Directly connected to the slopes of Okushiga Kogen Ski Resort and within a 1-minute walk from the Lift 1, Hotel Grand Phenix Okushiga provides a convenient ski-in/ski-out access. Incredible service and incredible overall experience. It's like staying in a fancy cabin in the snow. The lounge area with the giant fireplace is awesome, very nice food, very spacious rooms and first class facilities such as the onsens and indoor swimming pool. The decor could be interpreted as dated (as other reviews have stated) but we felt this simply adds to the warmth and cosiness of the establishment. The service here is seriously next level and it is fantastic value for money.

Situated in Nozawa Onsen, 22 km from Ryuoo Ski Park, Nozawa Grand Hotel features accommodation with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. Nice hotel with a cool 80s vibe. Rooms were spacious. Good buffet breakfast. Outdoor Onsen in the snow was a great experience. Not too far from Yu Road and Hikage ski area.

Open from August 2018, featuring Mount Asama views and a single-star Michelin restaurant, Le Grand Karuizawa Hotel and Resort is located in Karuizawa. We loved the stay. The staff and the place was wonderful!

Situated within a private forest and boasting outdoor hot springs and award-winning cuisine, Sierra Resort Hakuba is a 10-minute drive from JR Hakuba Train Station. There’s multiple onsen’s on site that are fabulous. There’s table tennis, air hockey and food and drink on hand. Great staff and service was exceptional. Shuttle bus on hand to take you into town and drop off at the bus terminal.

Situated in Chino, 31 km from Canora Hall, Tateshina Tokyu Hotel features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Quiet forest environment with lake. Beautiful in the snow. Well staffed and helpful. A good place if you are an international traveller looking to avoid other tourists. Guests are almost all Japanese. Wonderful stay.

Situated in Shinano, 30 km from Zenkoji Temple, Hotel Tangram features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant. The location and all the facilities at our doorstep. Reasonably priced. The snow raft and kids park was a highlight.

Located 29 km from Canora Hall, Sky Park Hotel offers 3-star accommodation in Chino and features a shared lounge. Breakfast was amazing.. Staff were all amazing and very friendly

Set in Otari and with Tsugaike Kogen Ski Area reachable within 2.6 km, Hakuba Alps Hotel offers a tour desk, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi and ski-to-door access. Hotel facilities were amazing. The room was spacious and perfect for two people. the ski in/out was nice too.
