This hotel was a perfect base for a wonderful holiday. Each morning, the hiking bus picked me up right outside the hotel, and I’d return in the afternoon to relax by the pool and enjoy the comfort of my room. The breakfast was excellent, and the hotel is ideally located within walking distance of downtown Funchal, making it easy to explore and find great dinner options.

Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Casa das Proteas is located at Estrada das Covas nº8, São Jorge, Madeira Island, 50 km from Funchal. The location is excellent as a starting point for several hikes. Beautiful situated place with a fantastic view of the ocean . Very nice and attentive host. She really cares about her guests. The breakfast was marvellous and she even cooked delicious dinners for us. Our room was spacious and very clean. We had a kitchenette and a balcony with sea view.

Charming hotel with its own peculiar vibe. It was very calm and quiet, even though there was a party at the property one of the evenings. Breakfast was very nice and offered many options. The staff is what makes this such a precious experience - even more so than the views (and they are already fantastic).

Detta designhotell är en renoverad traditionell bondgård uppe på en klippa med utsikt över Atlanten på Madeiras sydkust. Ponta do Sol har en fantastisk infinitypool och badtunna med panoramautsikt. Helt fantastiskt ställe. Utsikten, poolerna, frukosten allt var så bra.

Det nyrenoverade, 4-stjärniga Hotel Baia Azul har ett idealiskt läge, 4-minuters promenad från stranden i Funchal. Awsome breakfast and service personals were very nice.

Det 4-stjärniga hotellet Aqua Natura Bay ligger vid havet i Madeira och har en inomhus- och utomhuspool, ett turkiskt bad, en bastu och en bubbelpool. Här finns även ett gym och ett dykcenter. The pictures do not do the property justice, it’s an amazing place to stay, from the moment you walk in the door you feel cozy in a very spacious setting. And the staff, they were all just wonderful, specially Margerida at front desk. Also, it’s a great location to do some exploring in the area and it’s near to different hiking trails (by car).
