I booked Maison Fimela after travelling in Senegal for two weeks, wanting to end the trip by visiting the UNESCO listed Saloum Delta. I’m very glad I did. This was the best accommodation I stayed in, with the best food and hospitality of the entire trip. The place feels like an oasis for birdwatching, and I especially enjoyed meditating and listening to the birdsongs. Nature focused travellers will love it, and the Saloum Delta itself is not to be missed (although I saw more birds in the lagoon in front of the hotel than during my delta excursion) Chloé was very helpful in organising my excursions and arranging a taxi to the airport. I have no complaints at all and was very happy with my stay.

The property is located at the edge of Ndangane. Because there are no other properties between theirs and the Sine-Saloum Delta we noticed more wild birds here than anywhere else in Ndangane. The accomodation is exceptional and our room was lovely - great shower as well. It's about a 10 minute walk to the Main Street / jetty. We must not forget the most important person, Marie-Augustine. We had read about this lady in other reviews and they were correct. What a lovely, kind person. Nothing is too much trouble. We asked if we could meet a local family and Marie-Augustine organised this. We learnt more about local life and had a meal with the family. What a fantastic day. If we ever venture here again we wouldn't stay anywhere else. Last but not least Vincent & Nicolas also made us feel welcome at Campement Houefa.

We loved our stay there! Joseph and his family are the best hosts ever, it was like staying with friends. They really took care of us and helped us with onwards travel and drove us to places. We liked the colorful apartment which is just like in the photos, very homely and quiet. Enjoyed the use of the kitchen, liked the garden and the pool. Nice walks to the jetty and to the village. Joseph has all the info you possibly want for the area.

Everythiiiiing: The owners were adorable, some of the most positive and good-hearted people I ever met. The room/bungalow we had was amazing and very functional. The staff is very nice and caring. The pools were very clean as well as our room. It looked like paradise on Earth. It was so relaxing to be there, I wish we had stayed longer. They took the time to even book us some day trips with some tourist guides they know, and we were not disappointed. They took very good care of us, and we had some unforgettable moments and lifetime experiences. The owners trusted us with the drinks, and we felt like home, just like the meaning of the word KOUNZO. Please take the time to sit and chat with the owners as this is - 1st of all - not a typical cold B&B but rather a big warm international family. 2dly - they are so knowledge of life and have a couple of amazing stories to tell. So get the right spirit while visiting them, not matter if you go with your partner, a group of friends, or your family. We left our hearts there and with eyes full of tears of joy. Thank you, Lorette and Christophe, for taking such good care of us ❤️ We miss you !

Com vista para a piscina, B & B Mariamacounda fica em Toubakouta e tem restaurante, um balcão de turismo, bar, jardim, piscina ao ar livre aberta o ano todo e terraço. We really liked the B&B in general but were especially impressed with the excursions that were offered. David gave us a guided boat tour where we visited the small nearby island towns of Sipo and Missirah and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Jenny was also very helpful with the logistics (especially because I don't speak French!) and helping me organise our time in Senegal. El Hadj is their taxi driver and we organised pretty much our whole trip throughout Senegal with him - he was fantastic. And there are a few restaurants nearby with delicious food. The breakfast offered at the B&B was delicious. Thank you!

I was lucky enough to stay at this beautiful beachfront villa, and I leave with a heart full of gratitude and emotion. A huge thank you to Awa, Pierre, Omar, Ami, Kangou, Marie Jeanne, Awa Bah, and Ismaïla, whose kindness, professionalism, and care made this stay magical. Every smile, every gesture, every detail was just perfect. You truly feel at home—cherished, respected, and loved. The service was flawless, the food delicious, the atmosphere peaceful… and that endless beach… a waking dream! I leave with a light heart and only one wish: to return.
