The village is local and the people are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend a visit to anyone wanting an adventure in this fabulous part of Senegal.

Everythiiiiing: The owners were adorable, some of the most positive and good-hearted people I ever met. The room/bungalow we had was amazing and very functional. The staff is very nice and caring. The pools were very clean as well as our room. It looked like paradise on Earth. It was so relaxing to be there, I wish we had stayed longer. They took the time to even book us some day trips with some tourist guides they know, and we were not disappointed. They took very good care of us, and we had some unforgettable moments and lifetime experiences. The owners trusted us with the drinks, and we felt like home, just like the meaning of the word KOUNZO. Please take the time to sit and chat with the owners as this is - 1st of all - not a typical cold B&B but rather a big warm international family. 2dly - they are so knowledge of life and have a couple of amazing stories to tell. So get the right spirit while visiting them, not matter if you go with your partner, a group of friends, or your family. We left our hearts there and with eyes full of tears of joy. Thank you, Lorette and Christophe, for taking such good care of us ❤️ We miss you !

Com vista para a piscina, B & B Mariamacounda fica em Toubakouta e tem restaurante, um balcão de turismo, bar, jardim, piscina ao ar livre aberta o ano todo e terraço. We really liked the B&B in general but were especially impressed with the excursions that were offered. David gave us a guided boat tour where we visited the small nearby island towns of Sipo and Missirah and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Jenny was also very helpful with the logistics (especially because I don't speak French!) and helping me organise our time in Senegal. El Hadj is their taxi driver and we organised pretty much our whole trip throughout Senegal with him - he was fantastic. And there are a few restaurants nearby with delicious food. The breakfast offered at the B&B was delicious. Thank you!

Every smile, every gesture, every detail was just perfect. You truly feel at home—cherished, respected, and loved. The service was flawless, the food delicious, the atmosphere peaceful… and that endless beach… a waking dream! I leave with a light heart and only one wish: to return. The hotel has a magnificent view on the lake and the stay in the tree house was another adventure on its own.
