The hotel’s location is very central, with plenty of dining options and lovely spots for a short walk nearby. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. Breakfast was delicious, with a great variety and high-quality food. We also had the chance to use the sauna, which was a very pleasant experience. The instructions were simple, and we had it all to ourselves for a great price of 15 EUR per person for 3hrs. We would definitely return!

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Edelhof very much! We arrived by bike, 3 hours early before check-in time and were allowed into our room right away by a friendly lady at the desk. Excellent service! The room was spacious, the bed very comfortabele, good working airco and a lovely balcony. A retour ticket for the cable car to Monte Lussari appeared to be included in the price of the room! Again, excellent service! Mount Lussari is an absolute jewel and worth a visit. The bikes were safely parked in the garage during the night. Breakfast was excellent, with good coffee, fresh fruit, enough choice in bread, cheese and meat, and eggs. Even chia seed pudding was available.

Exceptional hospitality, rooms of the size of apartments with mountain views and terrace. The central location was perfect to explore best Karyntian ski resorts: Nassfeld (20min and public transport!), Gerlitzen (25min), Turracher Hohe (1h), Katschberg (1h). Shops were 5min drive by car. Sauna/wellness - exceptional! And 4 meal dinner after skiing? A blessing. Thank you so much!

A well looked after town centre, pleasing to the eye.

A well looked after town centre, pleasing to the eye. Plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. Cycling routes to lakes along the river, actually there are cycling routes to wherever you want to go. It is a starting point for any activity you enjoy doing: cycling, hiking or climbing up mountains, water sports, shopping, eating. And the weather, although you can't order it, is usually favourable.

The location is excellent—right by the motorway, yet still quiet if your room faces the opposite side. What really stands out is the direct access to a beautiful forest path leading along the river. The trail is well-maintained, peaceful, and shaded, making it ideal for relaxing walks, jogging, or spending time in nature with a dog. It’s a great spot to unwind and enjoy the surroundings, and an ideal place to stop over during a long journey—we always stay here when passing through. The staff at the reception are friendly and helpful. The décor is pleasant, and the rooms are quite clean. The food in the restaurant is average, but there is enough variety to ensure you can always find something that suits your taste. However, the mattresses are rather old and could use upgrading.

A hidden gem - not just a quiet place surrounded by an unspoiled nature but a valley with amazing history of mining and community centered around the local industry. Maybe not a place for an extended stay but 2-3 night for sure.

Sankt Stefan an der Gail is a beautiful small village in the Gail valley. Great hiking places are nearby, like the Dobratsch national park, the Windische Höhe and the Nassfeld pass among others. The Pressegger See is also reachable by car within a few minutes. The R3 Gailtal cycling route runs next to the village.

Gorgeous little city with wonderful people, scenery and vibe. It has a wonderful feel. Great place to visit without all the crowds, traffic and walkable. I only was there 3 days and I already want to return.

Picturesque old town with charming timber-framed buildings and some lively restaurants serving traditional food. We were only there for one night, but had a nice meal and sat in the lovely square with its fountain and bars.
