The rooms are very nicely prepared - we had a two-story room with a spacious bathroom incl whirlpool. Eating at the Roanwirt is also really nice (typical Austrian cuisine). The sauna area is not the biggest, but it was never crowded. The staff are tremendously forthcoming and friendly. In the area, you can hike up to Pogusch and have amazing views of the mountains.

The apartment offered excellent value for the price. Our group of 11 was pleasantly surprised by how spacious and comfortable it was. A well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and impeccable cleanliness made it an amazing stay. It was fortunate that the city was empty, as it allowed us to appreciate the majestic Alps away from busy tourist spots. Hotel provides free entrance to the pool and we were happy to use it. The restaurant was occupied due to a sporting event, but we appreciate that the cook accommodated us and provided take-away food.

A very nice, calm, not crowded, friendly small city, just a few minutes away from the nature. Naturally, it is famous from the point of view religion, for us it was mainly selected by its close position to the nature, forests, mountains, lakes. The only thing that can be suggested: If you want to have a dinner at the evening, You need to hurry, the restaurants are mostly closing around 7pm.

If you're going to the Austrian Grand Prix, this is a great location to stay. There is a train station that is 30 min away from Knittelfeld, where you can take a free continuous shuttle to the Red Bull Ring.

It is a small nice city.

It is a small nice city. Especially in summer there are a lot of sport facilities. Surrounded by mountains you have a lot of possibilities for hiking, mountain biking (VTT) , trail running or swimming. And you can do a lot of different day trips to many beautiful places (even by public transport).

Semmering is a rather nostalgic place.

Semmering is a rather nostalgic place. Everything reminds of "past glory". If one likes such an atmosphere, he/she is just right. Surrounded by woods and mountains multiple footpaths invite for every kind of relaxing excursions within a green nature.

The mine is interesting - but most enjoyable for German language. The town is really nice - here more time you can count just for walking down on old streets. We did not have too good weather for Leopoldsteiner see - in a better time this can be also a good program. The best part however was the walk we made next to the ski jump area - the real beautiful Austrian landscape with nice view, small farmhouses, good hiking trails - best for cycling and also for walking. Here you can really count a day.

Very well equipped for families with kids. Playground, pool with slide, nice garden outside. I appreciated the food labels clearly indicated the allergens. Dinner was excellent one evening and average the other nights.. that part could be better, but the overall experience was very good.

The area is great for hikers.

The area is great for hikers. We could have stayed longer and seen more. We stayed for 3 nights. As it happened, there was a heatwave so we found it too hot to do much walking anyway. Beautiful mountain scenery, lovely old town with plenty of religious and historical interest. Easy to get around with lots of things to do for all ages.

Leoben is a small, pretty town.

Leoben is a small, pretty town. My hotel Gastof Zum Grief had a superb location, literally 2 minutes from the main square and right by the river. It’s easy to walk around Leoben which has many bars and restaurants in and off the main square. Lovely country walks by the river and also a shopping centre in the main square. I ate in San Marco, Trattoria Roma, Zum Greif, Stadt Meierei,and Schwarzer Adler - all very good.

It is not such a picturesque town but it has an old castle...

It is not such a picturesque town but it has an old castle on the hill with fine views. The other thing I really appreciated was an outdoor 50 metre public pool with an equally large separate fun pool wih water slide. After a long journey that was perfect!

Perfect place for a short winter vacation.

Perfect place for a short winter vacation. Vienna airport is 100 km away. Car rental is fairly inexpensive if you book in advance. Several ski rental shops are in the surroundings. If possible avoid weekends. Many people com for a ski weekend.
