Everything was great! The bed was very comfortable and the view from the room was beautiful. Breakfast was excellent, with a good variety of fresh and tasty food. There are 2 saunas and nice area for relaxing. The staff were very friendly and made us feel truly welcome.

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Steiner — quite possibly the best ski hotel we’ve ever stayed in. The service was exceptional throughout; the staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. The hotel layout works perfectly, and the location is ideal for skiing. Everything felt easy and well thought out. We enjoyed wonderful food, fantastic skiing, and the spa was a great place to relax after a day on the slopes. Overall, it was just a brilliant holiday. We couldn’t have asked for more and would happily return.

Great hotel, everything is so nice and well though-through. Everything is brand new, it is modern but very cosy and traditional at the same time. I stayed in the suite which was a very big room. There are also 3 restaurants in the hotel, tried the Austrian and Japanese ones and they were very good. Breakfast is excellent, many options and good quality of food. The staff is friendly and helpful.

We made a late online booking and even though we were arriving after the hotel's "official check-in" time, the staff called us to say they will arrange access for us afterhours. We also asked if it is possible to have a couple of beers waiting for us in the room - lo and behold there was a bucket full of ice with beers put in our room. Room was spacios, clean, well equipped, super comfortable. Hotel itself is absolutely lovely. Breakfast was amazing.The staff is friendly, most helpful : the lady at the reception was asking us which direction we are taking to continuo our travel and then proceeded to check live webcams and road info to provides us with the most recent status update. Hotel's location is superb too. I can only speak in superlative terms about the hotel.

St. Michael im Lungau is a lovely Alpine town with amazing mountain views and a really relaxed vibe. It’s easy to get to from the A10, and you’ll find everything you need there – shops, restaurants, and good access to nearby cable cars and hiking trails. A great base for exploring the Lungau region.

Very nice B&B with great attention to detail and quality! The interior of the rooms is well-done and the whole property is very clean. The breakfast selection is very rich and the quality of the food served is excellent. Max is a great host, making sure to accommodate all our needs and serving as a great companion for a chat after a day of skiing. I highly recommend the property!

Mauterndorf is a beautiful little town in the Austrian Alps with a peaceful, timeless charm. Its medieval castle and traditional houses make it feel like a step back in time. Especially in the evening light, the town becomes wonderfully atmospheric—quiet, romantic, and full of character.

My visit was for Krameterhof an inspirational project...

My visit was for Krameterhof an inspirational project started by Sepp Holzers now run by his son. See the planetary potential of permaculture in action on their courses I had brought bread cheese and fruit with me so did not eat out. There is a pizzeria The transport links were good. I walked as much as I could but locals freely offered assistance. Walking in the hills is excellent

It is a compact city, once you are in the center you can access all the popular stores/supermarkets by walk. Parking was also not a problem, 1.5 hours you can stop without paying. It is a classical old small city. They have a lot of locally produced tasty products. There is a nice church on the hill, worth to visit.

Mariapfarr is 25 minutes by car from Obertauern, which is great. It has lots of places where you could walk and enjoy the great Alpine landscapes. We skied, hiked, and walked, spending 2 weeks there this March. Thomal is a great reestaurant having delicious food. One can also go cycling from Mariapfarr, and go to sauna and spa, horse riding.

An excellent location for access to skiing Katschberg, as well as the long well pisted St Margarethen skiing. More a quiet pretty village atmosphere rather than typical ski resort. Peaceful and relaxing.

Obertauern might not be the largest resort in the Alps, but it is easily one of the most snow-sure. It’s a reliable choice even for late-season skiing when other places are struggling. The layout is incredibly convenient with easy access to the slopes from almost everywhere. The resort has a wonderful, pleasant atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.

I have no Idea, i was skiing all day, in the evening in...

I have no Idea, i was skiing all day, in the evening in restaurants outside Sankt Micheal, but I was only there 4 days, and had arrangements for apre-ski and restaurant visit with a group of 22 people arranged inside Katsberg-hohe, I left Sankt Micheal, in the morning at 8:00 and returned in the evening after 20:00 to 21:00. Saw nothing of Sankt Micheal. But I am sure it is all there. It was my choice to stay there; and knew i was commuting up and down to "Katsberg-hohe" which is perfectly do-able, with the right car and no extreme weather. If the weather would not allow the 11 minute trip, you can always start skiing from St. Margareta, which is probably only needed on a hand-full of days per ski-season. and on top of katsberg-hohe, you can easily ski in surrounding ski-areas (Katsberg-hohe), Mautendorf, Gross-eck-Speier-Eck, or Aineck or "Obertauren". And "Obertauren" is only a 20 -to-25 minutes drive (if your willing to get into you're car) but hey it is was only (3) EUR on top the price of the local skipass to include "Obertauren": good value for money, close by, and it is "pretty snow sin the top (3) ski areas of Austria. Ad you are in a very tourist friendly pension for half the price as staying "Obertauren".

Accommodation was really beautiful, in calmy and safe place,...

Accommodation was really beautiful, in calmy and safe place, full of good spirit. I warmly recommend this place for those, who long to ski in Obertauern oder in Grossneck, The ski-bus station is situated 300m far from the house, next to the main road. That means 5minutes by foot or 10minutes by foot with skiboots. There is shop with opening time till 19:00hrs. That was great, you can manage all stuff after the skiing. We also appreciated the fireplace which we used during the dark cold evenings.
