It was a 2 bedroom apartment with an adjoining studio room - so we had 3 bedrooms (king beds) 2 bathrooms and 2 balconies - it was perfect! The hotel and rooms are new, modern, clean and spacious. The location is perfect, with James street around the corner with so many dining options and with galleries and the waterfront (playground, skateparks and activities) an easy, short walk away. The rooftop and BBQ area is lovely with stunning views over Geelong and there’s gym facilities which we didn’t use. Large free carpark (on weekends) around the corner. And if you don’t get your room cleaned/towels replaced, they have a plant a tree initiative which we liked!

I stayed here for almost three weeks on a work trip in one of the studio apartments. I was impressed by how well outfitted the room was, with a well stocked kitchen, comfortable bed, functional AC, and high quality linens and pillows. The WiFi worked well and the room was quiet and out of the way, which was great for me as the property was very busy with large groups/families with kids and I believe some other parts of the property are likely less quiet. I felt safe the whole time and everything on site was very well maintained.

We came in late off the Spirit of Tasmania. Rang them to say ship was 1 1/2 hours late and it was no problem as keys would be in key safe and to ring them if a problem. As it was we and another couple with a caravan were met by him to make sure all was ok. He's only owned it for a week and that was an excellent start for us.

Didn't really get to see too much of it because I was there...
Didn't really get to see too much of it because I was there for three days for a conference, but did drive through the city and along the Esplanade and what I saw was nice and clean. The new Conference Centre was really well put together.
I visited a quaint family owned pub, the Sir Charles Hotham(?) a few times during my stay and the owners and their family made me feel extremely welcome as someone who had not been to Geelong before. Born and bred Geelong, they (the Moore family) were very proud of their city and made my stay extremely enjoyable.

Queenscliff is a quanit seaside town straight out of a en episode of gilmour girls. There is something for everyone. From teh adventurers who can go fish or join a dolphien seal swim to the historians with the fort and one of teh few black lighthouses to the kids with amazing ice cream shops and pancakes parlours to everythjing in between book shops, cafes, restaurants. There is so much to do and see !

The township is fairly busy on weekends, even in off season. So plan ahead for food and coffee. Expect lots of traffic, as the main street in is a bit of a bottleneck. Its a bit quieter during the week. The town has a relaxed and very family friendly vibe and the river beaches make for good paddling.
Its a pleasant drive to other beach towns, like Queenscliffe or Torquay, and there are good shops to peruse. Try out Bowlz for delicious Smoothies or Choose your own Poke Bowl. Very filling and good value for good food or Green Eggs and Ham and a good coffee at Starfish Bakery.

Portarlington itself is a great town for a relaxing holiday. The town has all the shops, restaurants and facilities a traveller could need. The port, beaches and rural areas are beautiful, with many dog friendly walks. It's a great base for visting other areas of the Bellarine including; St Leonards, Indented Head, Queenscliff, Ocean Grove, Lorne and Drysdale.

We had a function to attend in Ocean Grove; Curlewis offered a more "budget friendly" accommodation option to those on offer in Ocean Grove. We really recommend the restaurant. Outstanding food!

It suited our purpose for a short 4 day break away with our dogs. St Leonard’s is close to other towns on the Bellarine area. Had a great breakfast at the Salty Cow cafe and town has a supermarket, newsagent, hotel and a handful of cafe takeaway shops.
Easy drive to Portarlington, Queenscliff, Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads.
Plenty of beach and tracks for walking and sightseeing too.

We did a lot of walking on the beaches and sea wall, also to the lighthouse and beyond. It's a beautiful area. Queenscliffe is nearby and worth exploring. Local residents are very friendly and informative. We enjoyed the local coffee shops and eateries.
