AustraliaOn arrival we thought we were in the wrong place, it looks neglected and rundown.
BUT our room was clean and tidy, very comfortable lots of coffee, tea and biscuits.
Bathroom was newly refurbished and the shower was huge.
Our bed felt hard and that worried us BUT again we slept like a log very comfortable.
We went to have showers and realised there was no towels, but as soon as we rang the number at the office it was sorted out as quickly as possible. Towels, bath mats and lots of toiletries was delivered to our room.. No complaints from us :)

I arrived pretty late 10pm and I was supposed to check in by 1800 hour, with a simple phone call all I need and also an easy check out. Thank you Don. Big thumbs up... will be there again in a few months.

A favourite of my country pubs. Paul and Julie are absolutely lovely and super accommodating. Great to see this pub being renovated and having some love put back into the beautiful old building. Meals are great, people are great what's not to love.

We loved everything there, The bed was so comfy, I have Osteoarthritis and the bed was excellent, clean, big bathroom 🚻 close to shops, 1-minute walking. We're definitely going to stay there every time we visit Stawell we'd give it 5 stars

Liam, Janette & Jen were brilliant, couldn't have asked for a friendlier bunch of staff/owners. They were currently in a handover to become the owners and hearing their plans and vision for the place, once they're in full swing it sounds like it'll be a must-stop place on the way to Swan Hill and Lake Tyrrell.

We stayed here on a Saturday night because we were doing one of the local ghost tours in town. They were currently in the middle of a renovation when we stayed, but that didn’t bother us. We were in a newly renovated room and it was really good. Nicely done, great bathroom, good amenities and the service was good too. The location is great because it’s a two minute walk from the main street with good local shops and restaurants. I would recommend staying here if you need somewhere in Ararat.

Perfect lodge to base ourselves for exploring The Grampians. The lodge had everything we needed and we loved the provision of the simple barbecue. Lovely to be immersed in nature and a big shout out to the staff on reception who were extremely helpful, both before and during our stay.

The chalet was spotless. The massage chair was a great added extra and the bed was very comfortable.
The wildlife wandering through the property was brilliant, ducks with their ducklings, kangaroos and even a deer.
We will come back.

Loved our stay in the red brick cottage. The attention to detail in the making of it made us feel very outback Australian. It was comfortable and clean and relaxing. Also a big fan of our friendly chicken visitors!

Halls Gap is central to popular walks in the National Park. It is an easy drive to wineries and other restaurants if wanting a break from the walking shoes. Spring is an excellent time to visit for wild flowers and active native animals.

Horsham is a lovely town and well worth the visit.
Horsham is a lovely town and well worth the visit. We stayed 4 nights and used our accommodation as a base to do day trips. A must see is the Stick Shed at Murtoa. Must be seen to be believed! We toured around Horsham itself on our 3rd day and visited the War Memorial, Botanic Gardens, Apex Bridge and a walk around the main street. Visited the Tourist Information Centre at the Horsham Town Hall and visited the art gallery in the building. Plenty of shopping, different types of food available and everyone we spoke to was very friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and exploring Horsham and the surrounds.

It is a really beautifully kept town with heritage houses and beautiful gardens. Good shops as well. People are friendly and helpful. Very nice Gothic style churches (Anglican and Catholic). The Botanic Garden is really worth seeing for the huge old trees and the water features.

I lived in Ararat for 8 yrs, so was lovely to return and catch up with Friends. I love the heritage style of the town. The Main Street lit up at night was very attractive. Enjoyed our meal at The Mess, had the character as well. Our Sunday was spent at The Australian Native Wildflower Show. Oh my goodness, such Aussie Beauty, people so friendly, so overall a really special experience.

as stated in my review, sealake is a long long way to go if you are just wishing to find some where to stay to see the stars at night at lake tyrell, which i believe is the main attraction for this destination. there is almost no nice accommodation in the area. we booked a whole house run by the hotel, which was basically very, very nice once inside. Its away from the hotel grounds. The main st, Best St, needs some love and lots of it. Jukes cafe opposite the hotel is about the only other business showing a smile. At any time over the two days, there was only two or three people to be seen in the street. The hotel bar and dining room however were full each night. Sealake is such a pretty name and you have to salute the community for rebuilding and running the hotel after it burnt down in 2017. It reopened in 2019

Lovely spot to stay the night in, a morning stroll down the main street with plenty of coffee options to choose from. The botanic gardens are lovely and the BP by the roundabout, fills up your tank and washes your windscreen while they fill. Excellent old school service.

Very close to the Grampians, if you like hiking and bushwalking, this is a perfect place to stay for a few days. Our visit was to eat at the Royal mail hotel. The food was excellent and well worth a visit.

I can't recommend this property highly enough as nothing was too much trouble . This should definitely be on everyones bucket list.

Stawell used to be a bright vibrant town,but due to industry leaving it is slowly dying a slow death.
Looks drab and depressing.
So many closed shops drab shop fronts,and empty Main Street makes for no shopping 🛍️ there is none…all hotels closed used to be 5 now only one and a trackside taberet club,with overpriced meals it’s ridiculous.
Arboretum gone, big hill viewing hil a disgrace. So sad it was once so beautiful..
The Cato lake is Stawells only redeeming quality.

Halls Gap caters well for tourism. If you like bush walking/ hiking in the National Park with natural beauty of rugged mountain rangers Halls Gap is the place. All the walks/hikes are clearly marked. There is a National Park centre which can help and advise you of the walk/hikes available.
