United KingdomNever stayed anywhere this nice in my life. We had just come off of a long bus journey late night and we were more than impressed by the room when we walked in, so clean! The staff were absolutely outstanding, let us order a meal even though their kitchen was about to close (10/10 meal aswell!) and the whole experience was just lovely. You should all be proud of yourselves!

Great space, lovely & clean.
Decent sized bathroom with ample storage. Fully equipped kitchen wth tons of cupboard space (fridge/freezer, microwave, electric frypan, 2 hob plug in cooktop which lives in the cupboard when not in use, pots, bowls, cooking utensils & all the crockery). Seating for 6 at the table, comfortable couch in lounge area, & most importantly...super comfy beds 😊
Great pool & outdoor area. Highly recommend & will definitely book again when we're back in Mackay

We stayed here for 1 night and absolutely loved it - the only thing we regret is not having booked more nights here. The young gentleman who checked us in was more than accommodating and super friendly. The rooms are beautiful - recently renovated with beautiful furnishings. It was very clean and location on the beach was perfect. Highly recommend!

Apartment itself was excellent, food quality great and good drinks selection at reasonable prices.

Everything in Mackay feels incredibly close by.
Everything in Mackay feels incredibly close by. Not too many things would be more than a 10 minute drive away.
And beyond that, a seemingly endless expanse of mountains and cane fields in every direction.
Huge tides at the local beaches, millions of soldier crabs - and the 'worlds smallest' roundabout is in town.
The traffic lights near the airport are tiny, there are cane trains and tracks all over the place.
Truly a beautiful region.

Ours was a flying trip just to see the platypus, and we weren't disappointed. With more time the extensive sub-tropical rain forrest would be worth exploring. Eungella the village and the National Park are on a massif 700m and more above the Pioneer Valley, with a very steep drive to get there. Views are spectacular, and well worth the drive.

Everything is really close and I just loved that my toddlers could ride their bikes everywhere. I wasn't really prepared with groceries etc so could have brought more as there isn't much around. We purchased fish and chips and pizza for dinner on our overnight stay which was good. But definitely BYO food if you are planning on staying longer. A box of cereal is $9.
I would also go check out the bowls club for a meal when we stay next. Looked like a lot of locals go there for a meal. We didn't swim in the stinger nets this time around as we didn't have stinger suits for the little ones but the splash park was awesome. Not to say - there were lots of other swimming in the nets, the water was just too warm for our liking ( this is the temperature that Irrukanji like). The water depleted in the splash park to ankle depth at 5pm which we thought was to conserve water/ on a timer; Not sure. So that was a little disappointing in summer when you want the pool end to be a little deeper. Overall we stayed in Seaforth for this reason and headed to Cape Hillsborough around the corner to see the kangaroos/ wallabies on the beach the next morning. It's only a 10 min drive, but do go early!! We were a bit late. Go at about 4:15am before sunrise as the wildlife disappear very quickly once the sun comes up.

Sarina is a busy town with a big sugar mill, the highway passes through the main street, so it's good to locate accommodation off the highway if possible. Supermarket & good shopping in town. Beaches are nearby & quite pleasant.

Carmila was a stop over on our way north, in the morning we visited the nearby beach, beautiful! Campers and fishers would get much more from the experience than we did.
The pub was good.
The servo was good.

Eungella is a very special place and it needs to be protected from development and any Hydro scheme. Places like this are sacred and the wildlife is unique, it cannot be spoiled.

Perfect tranquil location with a quiet beach.
Perfect tranquil location with a quiet beach. Just a 10 minutes drive away from the sunrise wallaby experience if you’re planning to visit this.
Don’t miss the battered Fish and chips from the Pit Stop Cafe! It’s scrumptious and I ate mine on the beach with not a single soul in sight.
