We stayed in a superior beach view room. Ideal for a couple or small family. We cannot praise this resort enough. The room is superbly positioned on the beach with dolphins swimming only 50 metres away! There is everything that you need, a comfy bed, a small kitchen, beach and bath towels, cleaning materials etc. After a long drive from Perth via an overnight in Geraldton, we were really ready for our stay. Monkey mia did not disappoint. We enjoyed a meal in the restaurant and a takeaway meal from the bar, both were generous portions. Sundowner drinks in happy hour were also a must for us. We wished that we had been able to stay for longer.

I have always wanted to stay at this hotel - there was one highlight and then it went downhill from there. The highlight was that I was able to change my booking (with an increased cost as I needed to change from a Thursday to a Friday) due to my whale tour being cancelled at the last minute. the hotel did not have to do this, so I was grateful for the change, However the room was tired, I paid extra for a room overlooking the pool but really all you could see from the room was the carpark opposite (I was on the 4th floor), the power points etc were hanging off the wall, there was a bit of mould in the bathroom and I don't think the staff were that friendly - particularly the person taking the coffee order. the breakfast was good but at $30.00 was on the pricey side (book when you book your room or it will cost an extra $6.00). The location is good if you need access to the harbour facilities

Cable Beach has got to be the most magnificent beach we have ever seen and swam in, the water was absolutely gorgeous. Loved that we got to see the Staircase to the Moon and the sunset markets was fabulous. Also you must experience the Sailing Sunset Cruise as well as do a half day/full day Horizontal Falls excursion, highly recommend!! I would recommend staying over on the Cable Beach side of town. Either way though everything is nice and close to travel to, especially if you hire a car like we did.

Beautiful little town. Lots to do. Whether you go and hike the gorges, surf the breaks, check out dolphins and whales, take a cruise out for fishing or site seeing, or spend time swimming, boating or fishing on the river, there is something for everyone - even a little book shop 😀. The Pelican Cafe has great iced coffee. There are two yes two bakeries (check them both out - you wont be sorry) There are heritage sites and towns galore with a half day or less round trip... Its a small town with small town vibes, its friendly and quiet and restful...

We were in Geraldton for just one night as we delivered a joinery door frame. We had commitments the next day so had to drive back to Perth. The room at the African Reef Resort was well appointed and the bed was comfortable. I would have liked to stay longer in order to visit some of the tourist spots but time was of the essence. We did, visit the Sydney Memorial which was a wonderful tribute to the poor souls that died during WW11. My Grandfather's brother was a stoker on the Sydney and there were no survivors.

Exmouth is a laid back coastal town that is easy to get around. The landscape is arid and the reef is teaming with life. We spent an action packed day on the Ningaloo Discovery speedboat and had three swims with whale sharks. Froth and whale bone breweries both offered interesting beers and comfortable surroundings. The pies at the bakery were tasty. I liked my ocean blue custard tart with a nutmeg Manta Ray. The local pool was a great place to hang out and the staff were friendly.
