Lovely and very friendly city. Extremely clean.

Lovely and very friendly city. Extremely clean. CBD (Central Business District) is well worth a visit - nice shops and eateries, and I loved the old and new architecture. Fantastic beaches. Public transport (buses and trains as well as the ferry between CBD and South Perth) are very easy to use, and very reasonably priced (the $7 day ticket is fantastic). Loved South Perth, the CBD and Scarborough. I will definitely return as soon as I can! :-)

Freemantle is a lovely place to find history, enjoy the beaches and just chill out in the cafes and bars and has lots of places to eat. Ferries to Rottnest island are every half hour from the Quay near the railway station. I bought a Smart Rider card from a machine at the station when I arrived at the airport and it's easy to use just tap on and tap off each journey on trains and buses in the Freemantle and Perth area. There are frequent buses around the area and a free bus up and down from the bus and railway station to South Beach in Freemantle if you have a Smart Rider card. Transport is just a few dollars and trains to Perth are every 15 minutes. I arrived by bus and left by train and each was easily accessible with suitcases.

Busselton has grown dramatically since our last visit 5 years ago. The place is more vibrant and cosmopolitan. We found that the hotels have been upgraded and the food prices screwed up for the tourists. We found the best way to stretch the budget was to grab a wine from Uncle Dan and find a BYO

We chose Bunbury because The Australian U15 Cricket Championships were being played there over 6 days - so our stay at The Lord Forrest was very convenient. My wife's stayed in the Bunbury Hospital for two & a half days. Excellent care - Drs, Nurses & Physiotherapist were all excellent in their diagnosis, care & advice. We drove around Geographe Bay to Dunsborough, down Cave Road to Cape Leeuwin lighthouse before returning to Bunbury one day & down the Margaret River Wineries for lunch on two other days. Bunbury wasn't the ideal base for these trips.

Nice place for a short stay. If you're into lazing on a beach go east into the national park and head for Hellfire bay, one of the best beaches anywhere in the world. The Pier hotel has good food and the Travellers Tavern is a real locals spot.

Geraldton is quite nice to visit.

Geraldton is quite nice to visit. There are adequate eating establishments, shops and the lovely foreshore development to enjoy in town. We ate at Dome, the Italian restaurant and Tanti restaurant. If you stay in town there is much to explore on foot. Take the car and visit The Sydney Memorial which is amazing and a must see when in town. The Maritime Museum is very interesting also. St Francis Xavier Cathedral and museum are also quite lovely. Just a drive around town you can see old buildings of interest and some lovely spots along the foreshore in Bluff Point to enjoy a barbecue or picnic lunch.
