There was a small dip pool at the back of the property and a lovely waterfall feature. The properties also gated which felt very secure. The washing machine and dryer were great and easy to use. There were plenty of fresh towels also provided as well as beach towers the master pool has a lovely bath on the patio which was great for photos also. The properties very spacious and have a nice flow..

Amazing apartment on the ground floor with the large patio having a gate onto the pool area. It was so lovely to be able to go in and out of the apartment into the pool area and have the convenience of being able to pop back indoors if we needed anything. Bedroom very cool with air con and fans elsewhere in the apartment. Kitchen well equipped and a large fridge/freezer. Fatima very helpful, prompt with answering any whatsapp queries and allowed us to stay on a little later on our last day as we had a late flight, which was brilliant as we could use the shower before we left. We will be back!

I had an exceptional stay at The Sandpiper. The service was top notch. The rooms are very well appointed and the beach is beautiful. Absolutely no complaints. I would be on a plane there now if I could be. One morning I arrived at breakfast to find an invitation from the hotel for a cocktail hour that evening, on the house. Truly generous hosts. I've stayed in many beautiful hotels and the staff and location make The Sandpiper a stand out experience.

We absolutely loved everything! The hotel's territory is very spacious with lots of beautiful plants. It's just a three-minute walk to the beach. The room was light and spacious, outfitted with everything we needed. The owner, David, was always super friendly and helpful. His advice helped us organize our leisure time in the best way. Thanks a lot to the entire Beach View team! If we return to Barbados, we will definitely choose this hotel again.

Very spacious,excellent value ,well equipped kitchen. Bob the host was excellent,very helpful and gave us a good fact sheet as well as arranging taxis and taking us shopping on our first night . 5 -10 minutes walk to beach and road where there were buses and the Cliff Restaurant . Lovely neighbour - Dorothy too !

Excellent location. Walking distance to supermarkets, shops, bars and restaurants.
Walter was a brilliant host and was very friendly and helpful.
Beach bar that was included is lovely and an added bonus. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you Walter and Leeza.

Everything, Rochelle and all the Family made us so welcome. We have been coming to Barbados for over 25 Years and we think the hospitality and welcome at Shades was second to none, highly recommend and definitely would look to stay again.

St. James is half way up the west coast and in my opinion...
St. James is half way up the west coast and in my opinion one of the best areas in the island. Bridgetown and The Gap are 20 mins away on the bus if you want a lively time – equally the north of the island is 20 mins the other way with bays such as Thunder Bay, Mullins and Speightstown all on the bus route.
Having done a days tour around the island if you want smart bars, designer shops and a chilled time, then St. James is the place.

Also just north Thunder Bay and in Saint Peter Speightstown .
These areas are in my view have less noise / less traffic / have a less comercial feel but prices are higher than down south with less choice .
Places to eat Zaccios / East Moon Chinese eat take away / Sand St Bistro
Pier One / One Eleven East Beach Bar now been sold to Apes Hill Golf club prices have gone right up, but lovely place no cash cards only .
One of the staff had to pay my bill { i gave him cash ] Orange street grocer really nice . I had to use the buses i am 79 no one will hire me a car .

Saint James is a lovely area, with beautiful beaches and gardens -- very relaxing and quiet, though plenty to do if you wish. We were in the Sunset Crest neighbourhood of Holetown and could walk to the beach and beach club, and to a whole range of restaurants and shops as well as a great grocery store. If you want to go further afield, there are frequent busses. The Surfside Restaurant is a great place for lunch, and Paul Owens at the Beach House and the Tides are two of Barbados' best restaurants!
