The room was very clean and everything is new (or recently renovated). The bed was big and comfortable. There is tea/coffee and a kettle in the room. The lady at the reception was very nice and helpful. There is enough at breakfast even for vegans (baked beans, toast, speculoos paste, grilled veggies, juice, tea/coffee, fruit). The hotel is very close to the train station and right in the middle of the city, opposite the In Flanders Fields museum and near restaurants and bars.

Martine was a great host, she met us at the apartment and made sure we were settled in. She also left us some delicious homemade apple juice. The views were lovely, you could see the menin gate from the bedroom window and the apartment was lovely and warm. There was free parking at the train station which is just under 10 min walk from the apartment.

You can walk into the town centre along the river.

Whilst we were there primarily for the European Triathlon Championships, we were unaware that this hotel is located in the heart of what was the Western Front in Flanders. Indeed, trenches and remnants are located on the hotel grounds, with a British and Commonwealth cemetery minutes away. The hotel is peaceful, very well run, and accommodating. Would love to return to use as a base for further 1st World War education.

A great place to stay! Good hotel in a great location for visiting the historic Muur (Tour of Flanders). The rooms were big, nicely furnished and comfortable. The staff provided an excellent service Friendly, helpful and looked after our party. Excellent bar with nice beers and good food. The well stocked self service bar was a good alternative when closed.

Since I stayed there to ride the Tour of Flanders for amateur cyclists, I would have appreciated the presence of a washing machine. Very close to the highway, which is great if you travel by car.
