The stay was truly lovely, memorable and relaxing! Prior to arrival, I have already felt the warm hospitality from the Villa Flavia team via message communication. Upon arrival, their welcome drink and helpful infos put me at ease after a long journey on road. Then it was a jaw-dropping surprise to learn the next day from the owner that an ancient Roman thermal bath was excavated during the construction of the hotel! And the archeological site situates right at the hotel basement! I have spent some lovely quiet time at the basement, the rooftop (viewing sunrise, sunset and spotting the nearby ancient Roman theatre of Philippopolis), the patio/garden and my own balcony. Throughout my stay, I most enjoyed the very eyes-pleasingly colourful, nutritious and delicious breakfasts. Of note, I was particularly touched by the owner and team who took my feedback and concern regarding a restaurant seriously with immediate follow up actions. In short, feeling fortunate and thankful to be staying in Villa Flavia under a team who consistently shows hospitality, deep care and professionalism in every aspect. GREAT JOB team Villa Flavia!!

A very nice place, super quiet, not on the main road, just behind it, great design - rustic Bulgarian style rooms. Some very interesting details - the doors were all wood, with heavy-duty iron hardware, looks old and traditional. Maybe not super functional, but nice little touches. The furniture as well - wood, dark wood, exposed beams in the room, some old guns as decoration. Wooden floors and seilings, I have the exact same type at home, so it felt like home for me. We had a beautiful patio, with plenty of room to hang out, also a tailless cat, who was super friendly and cuddly, but not too much! He was great! Large bathroom, comfotable beds, easy to reach location even on foot from the train station. Plenty of restaurants around, grocery stores, across the street fro the international fair. Aslo, late check-out! Very large room overall. Would love to come back!

The venue is nice and definitely exceeded my expectations given the 2* classification of the hotel. The definitely could get an extra star given what they actually offer in my opinion :-). Staff was nice and helpful. The balneo center is well equipped and maintained with variety of procedures offerred (mud, luga, jacuzzi, pool, etc). Tasty home-made food available for both lunch and dinner.

Absolutely stunning place to stay! The room is beautiful, we had access to the balcony. The bed, although it was two twin beds together, had one big mattress on top, which was super comfortable, the bed was huge. Best sleep in Bulgaria guaranteed! The garden with a stream made the atmosphere of the place magical. The staff was very friendly. Beautiful surroundings as well!

Plovdiv is a vibrant, colourful and exciting city, a perfect blend of the ancient and the modern city. The people are very friendly and helpful and are happy to accommodate the right type of tourism. There always seems to be something to do, You can visit ancient archeological sites in the morning and go out clubbing in the evening. The food options are varied, plentiful and excellent value with servers only too willing to provide menus in English, tipping is not compulsory but with a minimum wage in Bulgaria of 3.74 euro a tip is greatly appreciated. I have visited Plovdiv on three different occasions and have been totally made to feel at home.

Asenovgrad is a pleasant town, with a river running through the middle, a nice park & many beautiful churches. The main attractions for us were nearby Bachkovo monastery, (the 2nd biggest one in Bulgaria), & Asan fortress. In both locations there are many interesting hiking trails.

Perushtitsa is a small picturesque town, located at the outskirts of Rhodope Mountains. There are several tourist trails that start from the center of the town to the nearby mountains. Perushtitsa played a key part in Bulgarian history during the 1876 uprising against the Ottoman rule and during the Unification of Bulgaria with Eastern Rumelia. There is a museum at the center of the town and several historical places in the city. Perushtitsa also has a very good beer brewery at the edge of the town with taproom and a huge yard, that is very family friendly.

Karlovo is a beautiful, picturesque city surrounded by the mountain. It is a place where humanity crosses nature. It is a perfect place for someone who wants to breathe fresh air and go on hikes, even if you just walk around the city you would see beautiful scenery everywhere. Not to mention that it is a very historicaly rich place and worth to learn about, great visionaries lived there.

Visited for hiking to Balkan Mts, Botev Peak. Enjoyed our stay and the mountain. Imposing Socialist monument at the centre of the town. Nice restaurant at the very center. Nice draft beer and nice surrounding. Other restaurants of Kalofer were closed at the afternoon. We were surprised with the road network of Bulgaria which is in very good condition. Make sure you pay the appropriate vignette online before entering the country by car.

A charming Old City with rich history. Needs days to be well explored. Beautiful and clean central part of Plovdiv, well maintained, with well incorporated excavations and gardens- I would love to live there.

Food and service at Sani was very good.

Food and service at Sani was very good. Train journey to Plovdiv good and very cheap. Trail walks good. Asenovgrad is changing rapidly, new buildings generally look really good. Sign Communication and rubbish collection needs to improve. As does an explanation of how to get to eg pamporovo.

This is a great place to visit.

This is a great place to visit. My son broke my camera, so I have only half memories documented. More to that, mineral water was off on our second day of staying. I am not sure how and why, but yeah... The town is worth visiting. Do it once and decide for yourself if it is worth to come back. For you. We will some day
