Beautiful hotel with amazing views of Berau. The room was spotless clean, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was fully equipped with all details. We had a great night sleep. The breakfast was delicious with a lot of options both western and asian. And they had an expresso machine to make cappuccino which was a nice touch. The staff as very kind friendly and helpful. We liked it so much here that we booked a second night.

Our host Daisy was amazing and went out of her way to welcome us, and familiarise ourselves with local area, re places to eat, where to get a massage, and bars to get a well earned drink. Our room was as new, well designed and appointed, and spotlessly cleaned, and zero maintenance issues. Well located within a hospitality hub, once you got there.

Host was able to accommodate earlier check in to hand over keys on first day and clear instructions provided. I was able to access the gym facilities and free parking provided with the rental. The apartment was right above Imago shopping mall which was very convenient for eating out and access to local Grab taxis. Comfortable stay and all basic items provided during stay.

We were the only one staying at the resort. It's peaceful and quiet. Mr Lee connected via Whatsapp with us few hours before check-in. As we arrived very late in the evening, he informed us on the dinner options before check-in. Personalised service. 🫡 Lots to explore around- sungai, garden. We had a private Garden.

KK is a chill and convenient place to go with, easy to search for eating places. Not recommend going for those popular shops, just get what you would like to eat. The biggest surprise in my trip this time, is the North Borneo Heritage Train Experience, great to go for it!

The usual scruffy SE Asian town but it had some good eating places, a good shopping mall, 24 hour laundries and a pleasant waterfront. The Agnes Keith house was excellent as was the Sandakan Memorial Park and other WW2 historical sites. A poignant reminder of a terrible history. The English teahouse with afternoon tea is well worth a visit

There’s not a lot to do or see in Sempora. It’s a jump off spot to local diving and islands. The best coffee I found is at McDonalds. Good idea to get cash before you get there, lines at ATMs can be n hour long. Wise red worked a treat for eftpos. Small supermarkets have everything you need with a variety of eating places

Bought my Australian friend to view the Kundasang War Memorial, was a good place to learn about history and enjoy the fresh air and amazing views of the surrounding area. We ate sayap (Sabah-style BBQ honey chicken wings) and had a walkaround at the local markets selling various veges and fruits. Walking alongside the locals really gave a huge sneak peek into the lives of the people there. Rent a car if you wanna visit Kundasang fully, I am a local who only brought my foreign friend and we all had an amazing time.

Sukau is very quiet with friendly local people.

Sukau is very quiet with friendly local people. You cannot find a bar or restaurant apart from where you are staying. There is no alcohol available due to their Muslim religion, however you can bring your own but also bring an esky. It is very unspoiled and a nice place to relax and enjoy the peace of the jungle. The boat tours are 3 times per day, where you can see many different birds, monkeys and if you are lucky like we were, the pygmy elephants. All of this is seen from a narrow boat on the river holding around 10 people. I highly recommend Sukau and particularly the Tommanggong River B&B. The accommodation for 2 was around AUS$50 /night and the tours approx AUS$25/person. The guide was excellent and very knowledgeable about the river, plants and animals. I highly recommend this tour for people of all ages and origins.

A beautiful spot to relax and unwind. Whether you want to sit and read a book, stare at the ocean, swim, snorkel, kayak, or enjoy guided walks, diving - it was there if you wanted it.
