Casas Brancas is the kind of place that makes you immediately feel at home, but in the most beautiful, dreamlike way possible. From the moment we arrived, everything was just so well thought out—every little detail, every cozy corner, and every interaction felt genuine and special. You can tell the people here love what they do, and that energy makes all the difference.
The staff was fantastic—warm, friendly, and always one step ahead, making sure everything was perfect. A huge shoutout to the teams at 74 Restaurant and 74 OSTERIA, who not only served amazing food but also made every meal feel like part of the experience.
We came for our honeymoon, and these five days have truly been the highlight of our trip. Casas Brancas is the kind of place that sticks with you, and honestly, Búzios is worth visiting just to stay here. Already dreaming of coming back!

Amazing place with amazing service. The staff at the restaurant was responsive friendly and really useful. They even heard once knife dropping from afar and brought immediately a new knife to replace it. The rooms were were good and clean and the housekeeping was top level.
Not sure why this hotel doesn’t have five stars or even more.

Pousada is very well taken care of with good breakfast and very nice staff! Rooms are spacious and recently renovated. Good location as it’s very close to the Tartaruga Beach (5-10min walking) and short drive to Rua das Pedras.

Buzios is safe and can take the volume of tourism maybe...
Buzios is safe and can take the volume of tourism maybe except at the busiest times like Carnaval. Range and quality of restaurant food is truly excellent, better than Rio. Lots of larger and more cosy beaches to visit. We always stay close to Ossos beach as that area still retains it’s fishing village character. Lots of Argentinians and Uruguayans visit or even work there which makes it more fun if you one can speak Spanish.

I love it!
I love it! It is a small town, is not made for people that want plans and party 24/7, but if you like nature and beautiful beaches... it is your place. You have even some beautiful hikes to do there to.

Charming city, so much to see and do.
Charming city, so much to see and do. I love a bargain and there were bargains everywhere! Lots of great food and entertainment. People were very friendly and helpful.
You can Uber for almost nothing here, although don't expect air conditioning in most of the cars.
I highly recommend doing one of the boat cruises and anything you want to do you can get a better price online.
Ask around before you do things, there are so many hidden treasures and such amazing food!!
I love Cabo Frio and will definitely return!

Nice and cozy place with sandy beaches and beautiful lakes. Pleasant promenade, Lots of good restaurants, bars and shops. Possibility of a boat trip around the bay. Good Bamboo Buzios Hostel (very good breakfasts with fantastic view of the sea).

The city is not very nice but the beaches, specially the Forno Beach was great (go early due to the sun's movement. It get behind the mountain and at 3h30 PM it will not be on the sand anymore). Atalaia beach was too crowded for my taste.

Nice shops nearby lots places to eat very good food , good prices. My hotel was very good lovely staff. The town beach is beautiful however quite dirty sand wouldn't walk around without a good beach shoes. Lots of broken glass bottles. However the boat trips take u to some magnificent clean beaches like paradise worth to visit. Couldn't find a boat trip without loud music...I would prefer quietness. But it is super beautiful heaven.

The place was totally overcrowded by Spanish-speaking tourists, the prices were sky-rocketing and the value for money was real bad. The beaches were so full, you could not even lie down on the sand. I ordered a Caipirinha on one of the beaches and got food poisoning. It's a total shame how a paradise is being ruined by reckless tourism with no regard of the nature or human well-being. I will never come back.
