This hotel was absolutely stunning. Well appointed rooms with a beautiful view of the bay. Everything was spotlessly clean and of the highest quality. The staff was fabulous. The breakfast was delicious. I have stayed at all of the hotels in Gaspé over the past 3 years and this is, by far, the nicest hotel.

Beautiful hotel steps from the river. Our room had a river view! Very close to a delicious bistro for dinner! Room was spacious, very clean and bathroom well stocked. We would definitely recommend this hotel! Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Cute cabins with an amazing view. We had the chance to enjoy the shared outdoor space, amazing sunset dinner. Cabins were super clean and very convenient. Host very welcoming! Super close to the Forillon Park, great after or before a hike.

Enjoyed the river walk ; learning about some of the community history . Easy to drive thru & connect with our route south . The city should put strong police enforcement in place against loud motorcycles burning thru streets and along the main roadway. Annoying & dangerous.

Nice place if you want to spend time and visit the park.

Nice place if you want to spend time and visit the park. But if you are staying just for the night like us- stay away. Hidden fees for staying at the hotel. No one told us we had to pay for a park if you just sleep there. We did not walk around. But you can get into the park for free and walk around. So not happy about that. Rooms were clean, food was good but more for people who are vegetarian. Service was great. Front desk service was OK.

Cute little town.

Cute little town. We loved the cafes, restaurant and brewery options. Everything we needed was there including grocery shopping, liquor store, etc. The beach was beautiful and the scenery was fantastic! And of course, the people were wonderful.

The staff were amazing, including the manager. They were quick to resolve any issues we had, especially with the change of rooms, when the first room was dirty. Although a refund for my stay was offered, it took a while to get it.

Gaspe is a beautiful place for walking and whale watching.

Gaspe is a beautiful place for walking and whale watching. The trails are well marked, well maintained and easy to follow. The rangers are helpful with ideas of what to do in certain times if you are short of time. The beaches are stunning. We sat for ages on a gorgeous beach watching seals watching us. The water was warm (in September) and so clear. Also we noticed how quiet the skies were- no aeroplanes. Idyllic!

Charming village, with a special ambiance connected with the...

Charming village, with a special ambiance connected with the famous rock and Bonaventure Island. We highly recommend the boat ride to, around and from the island, and the trail hike across the island to witness les fous de Bassans (sea gulls). It is a fabulous experience. There is a free (plus tip) van that you can get in front of the motel and ride into the center of the village, and return.

We spent two nights in the area and we enjoyed walking on the beach, the Exploramer museum, boat excursion, and agate mine. The boat tour was a highlight. The kids got to learn about and handle crabs, a lobster, and starfish. We had icecream (twice!) at Coleurs Chocolats.

Matane has the friendliest folks in the entire province.

Matane has the friendliest folks in the entire province. Most tourists just drive through but there are places for kids, restos for the whole family,a marina to enjoy, a cinema, big stores and small artisanal boutiques. There is a really neat walkway along the river and a well-designed access to the water and beaches. For the naturalist there is a place t watch salmon going upstream.

Auberge du Vieux Faubourg was a quaint boutique hotel right on the river. The room was large and comfortable. The bathroom is somewhat dated and could use an update but was still very clean. There were chairs on the deck outside our room to enjoy the evening however we had to enjoy the view through our window as it was a rainy and cold (10⁰ C) June evening. We ate at the nearby ‘Du Quai’. They are understaffed and it was slow to be seated and waited upon but the food was excellent.

The restaurant had a great dinner at the hotel with views of the sea . Nearby was a park and area where you could rent water sports equipment. Pool was heated though across the road from our room. Tennis court needs resurfacing .
