Check in was VERY fast and easy. Rooms were very clean. They went out of their way to provide us with a handwritten note to wish us a wonderful anniversary and even gave us a complimentary champagne bottle. Everyone was very friendly and helpful! Definitely a great place to stay! We did not use any of the amenities but they looked really great!

We gathered as a group of cousins to manage our cottage...its an annual meeting, our group is growing in size, and I wanted a warm, cozy place to stay instead of our cabins which work great in the warmer weather. Thank you for having this nice motel...our third stay there is three years..becoming an annual event!

It's just beautiful in the summer. Plenty of sites to see.

It's just beautiful in the summer. Plenty of sites to see. Lot's of great restaurants. Lots of parks. The views of Parliament Hill from the outside of the Canada History Museum are some of the best photo opportunities anywhere.

We got in late, almost in time for dinner.

We got in late, almost in time for dinner. We reserved a time at Le Bistro for 6pm. Wonderful meal and a must for Saturday night of Thanksgiving weekend. We had a quick coffee and sandwich at the fromagerie the next morning. We had a reservation for 10am at Parc Omega. Early morning is a must to see the animals being active. We would definitely come back again. Thanksgiving the fall colours were beautiful.

Wakefield is a wonderful place.

Wakefield is a wonderful place. A very nice village in a very beautiful natural environment. A special place in the Province of Québec. I believe that visitors will feel a special, possibly bohemian lifestyle. Once one gets there, everything is in walking distance. Nice cafés, nice restaurants, nice boutiques, live music, friendly people and all this embedded in beautiful nature in the valley of the Gatineau River, surrounded by the Gatineau Hills, neighbouring the Gatineau National Parc. Great hiking opportunities, mountain biking, canoeing, fishing, shopping, good food, and music. Since Wakefield had been founded by English and Scottish immigrants, once upon a time, it has preserved its English-speaking character despite French being the first language in Québec. On a side note regarding winter, fans of alpine skiing will even find their ski hill in Wakefield, night skiing included.

This motel is located in a quiet area just north of Gatineau. It's a beautiful setting. It offers a restful retreat with features that go above and beyond what you would find at other locations. Our stay was very comfortable and enjoyable.

I love Gatineau, it was my childhood home.

I love Gatineau, it was my childhood home. It is very beautiful, however, with all the construction, long weekend traffic & Ironman rally detours unbeknownst to us tourists, plus a couple fender benders, traffic was horrific for getting around.

Hard to find a place to eat, if you are a tourist. So if you are not there between 11am and 9 pm, you better get some food with you. Also, it's VERY expensive to eat there. Expect $120+ for two people for dinner and $60+ for breakfast.

There is a lake and some hikes around, easily accessible from Gite le Tresor Cache B&B. It is a restful place where you can also just enjoy a glass of wine on a terrace and enjoy the natural surroundings.

Gatineau has a long history as the entertainment centre for dull-after-dark Ottawa. Did not fail this tme as the Duvernay is near Gatineau centre- bars and restaurants, fabulous Canadian history museum, a pleasant walk across the river to centre of Ottawa, much more reasonable accommodation

A pleasant and picturesque small western Quebec town. The few folks we did interact with were welcoming, and language was not a barrier in any way. A nice place to visit, about an hour out of Ottawa/Gatineau. Definitely worth a day trip.

I'm referring to Old Chelsea, as Chelsea represents a bunch...

I'm referring to Old Chelsea, as Chelsea represents a bunch of little amalgamated communities. It's a cute little town full of B&Bs, bistros and shops. I went to the Nordik Spa, which is wonderful, and I'm sure to be back. I would like to go back in the summer, when certain landmarks and trails are more accessible.
