There was noone and I spoke to them before I booked. They didn’t send me a door code and there was noone there on the time of the approved check in time. I called them the whole day on the day of travel and they were unreachable so I had to book somewhere else. The property didn’t even react to messages a day later or the day after I also send them to get a doorcode like spoken about on the phone before I booked.
Now I have to wait five days for booking.com to look into it and hopefully send my money back. I wished I had booked this via Paypal for buyer protection because this is just bullshit.
Luckily the locals were really nice and helped me to get around and book somewhere else.

Although I was only spending nights (2) in the hotel and didn’t have time for breakfast I really enjoyed it. The room is spacious and very clean, the cleaning lady does a fantastic work. Hotel staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. Small details like every day a fresh carafe of water, a welcome card and snacks are really lovely. There is a free parking lot for the guests in a underground garage and you can get for free (tourist travel card for trains and buses free of charge) to Basel, which takes about 20 minutes. The train station is located only few minutes from the hotel. I can highly recommend this place!

Very well located to get access to the tram and into Basel and also to drive south into some of the countryside. Parking was easy and away from traffic. Rooms were basic and a little dated but very clean and very good value for money. The team were kind and helpful, I don't speak any German and their English was good. The breakfast was good, a nice selection of meats, cheeses, pastries, fruit and yoghurt. Well done the Lionesses for retaining the Euros :-)

The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood Muttenz. We stayed for three days. Hotel is just two minutes away is the station for tram 14, which takes you to the center for about 15-20 minutes. Near the hotel there is a supermarket, several fast foods and a bakery.

Beautiful hotel in idyllic village in the alps. Very kind friendly staff. the range of food was huge but I went for the excellent bistro menu. fabulous breakfast. Dreamy walk in the hills. really recommend!

I loved the trains r so handy to hotel and it was only two stops from Pratteln to Basel main train station there was lots of food places in Basel train station and lots of coffee shops outside the train station also a Starbucks outside train station up on the left we went to Joe dispenza retreat so we never had much time to do much but was a lovely city

The free ride from Hotel to Airport was seamless.
The free ride from Hotel to Airport was seamless. The hotel provides a free ticked which can be used in the bus and train. Take Bus 50 from Basel Airport which takes you to the train station at Basel. Check the platform number. There is a direct service to Liestal or a train with 3 stops and you get off at the 4th. 5 minutes to hotel Engel. Lots of eating places and people very friendly.

It’s a quiet residential suburb of Basel, the city centre is very accessible by the tram service, which runs every 7 minutes. There are a couple of bars & restaurants & a supermarket within walking distance nearby. Good place to be based to visit Basel.

Bottmingen is a very nice, quiet place, with plenty of restaurants and bars. For us, we wanted somewhere between Basel and where our relatives live in Biel Benken, so was very well placed for us. The public transport in Basel is fantastic, so very easy to get around.

Bottmingen is a great neighbourhood to stay outside Basel.
Bottmingen is a great neighbourhood to stay outside Basel. It has an efficient tram link to the centre, but it is much quieter. The municipal pool at Bottmingen is superb and very well run. There are lovely walks in the countryside very close by. Altogether it is a great place to live or stay.
