Our host Roberto took excellent care of us! Convenient location to ski and soak in the hotsprings at Nevados Chillan. Charming cabin by the river with ample nature space between cabins. The wood stove kept us warm and cozy.

Lots of restaurants, and a few mini marts.

Lots of restaurants, and a few mini marts. Plenty of options in town for renting ski gear and chains. I did not see any options for getting gas or a cash machine, but I didn't look that hard. The main road thru town is paved, the rest are not and very rough, full of potholes.

It´s a beautiful place, with cute and cosy cafés and restaurants but transportation there is an issue if you don´t rent a car. The sky park is amazing but rather expensive. I recommend renting your equipment in the store adjacent to El Leñador market, which is where we also bought food

Las Trancas is a great base for the adventure enthusiasts...

Las Trancas is a great base for the adventure enthusiasts with excellent mountain biking, snow skiing, and trekking on your doorstep. There are good restaurants and cafes to enjoy and shops supporting your activities with gear for rental and sale. Access is very easy on a tarred road all the way.
