I only stick to the West Lake as a retreat from the hustle and bustle of Shanghai. Finding little corners to enjoy some solitary contemplation around the West Lake district was not too difficult if one knows where to look - the bamboo forest was perfect, so was the Manjuelong mountain. Hangzhou food, or what is called Zhe Cai (Zhe being short for Zhejiang, the province of Hangzhou) is deliciously sinful. Dongpo Rou is a must. It's also famous for its Longjing tea, a type of Chinese green tea that's very light, yet almost minty. Hangzhou has one of the best bike sharing systems, also pretty easy to use Didi to get private cars, and cabs are everywhere.

Bland city in China. Good for a stopover if you have any specific reason to find yourself in Zhejiang province but otherwise perfectly avoidable.

The location is perfect for those who travel to Yiwu for business - it is only 50 meters away from one of the Yiwu trade center entrances. The hotel is not brand new, but it is kept very well. My room was spacious and had a lot more than I expected (even a bathtub with a glasswall). The breakfast is good. The staff is very kind and helpful.

West lake is one of our favourite places. The State Guest house is exceptional in every way. Incredibly beautiful garden, perfect management, great comfort, wonderful food and very helpful and friendly staff. The information about the property in the room is very helpful.
