Strong wifi (my husband used whatsapp calls for work everyday during our 1 week stay without any problem!), excellent air condition, coffee maker, hot water, really clean and beautifully decorated rooms and a blooming garden. All these things in Africa, just wow! 👍 Not to mention free upgrade to 2 bedroom apartment, free transport from the pier and to the airport and a late check-out... We are traveling 2-3 months a year with a child (3 years old right now) and my husband needs to work a couple of hours every day while on the road. This place met all our specific needs, thank you Nanda and Pompeo!

I absolutely adored everything about Barracudamaio. Mona and Christophe have worked so hard to create a beautiful space for an exceptional travel experience. It's very close to a secluded beach where you can relax and have some alone time, as well as see the incredible turtles (with Christophe as your guide). I was taught upon arrival how to take a 'bulea' (free ride) with the locals, so very easy (and safe for solo female travellers) to catch a lift to the next town. The accommodation is exceptional in itself and is well thought out with sustainability in mind and furnished beautifully. They both shared their story over delicious dinners (thank you, Mona) about their journey in building Barracudamaio, and I think it's such a beautiful way to live and to help travellers understand the integrity behind creating a sustainable and welcoming space like theirs. Mona and Christophe are such wonderful people with a lot of life experience, and I am so glad to have had the chance to meet them on my travels. Oh and I love their two dogs, Lulu and Irmã. I am returning for my second stay next week - looking forward to seeing them all again! :)

Solange was a fantastic host and quickly made us feel at home. The house is quite basic but very charming. Beautiful sea views, which you can enjoy while relaxing on the hammock. The town centre is within 10 min walking distance.
