We've been to around 10 hotels/accommodations in Ahrtal and this is the best hotel so far. Staff were friendly, room was exceptional and larger than other hotels, breakfast was worth the price they charge. They offer refreshing prosecco, local cheeses, different eggs, and good quality bread and cakes!

    Wonderful hotel. We stayed here 20 years ago and would stay there again. Good location within the walls of the ole town of Ahrweiler. Inside the hotel is clean and modern. Very nice room, nice bathroom. Excellent breakfast that included eggs and bacon to order. Secure parking in the back of the hotel. Elevator. Friendly and courteous staff. Plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel.

    Very nice and modern rooms with fantastic amenities. A very well equipped kitchen, spacious room, and modern comfortable bathroom. The check in and out are both extremely easy thanks to automation. A lovely area to travel with a pet as well as there are plenty of hikes and nature around.

    We walked the route - Rotweinwanderweg -it was spectacular and we had lovely lunch at Marienthal. Make sure where to catch the bus back. There is no indications in Dernau and the train does not operate --railway is under construction. Bad Neueahr is easy to walk around.

    We stayed in the village of Reetz which is part of Blankenheim.. Near the village is a lake called Freilinger See,, where people can swim or sunbathe. Blankenheim is situated in a beautiful area, called Eifel.

    A great place for people who enjoy nature, relaxation, and outdoor activities! If you're planning on staying in an apartment in Wimbach, I would highly recommend traveling by car. Not only is public transportation in the area almost non-existent, but the city center and race track are also very hard to reach on foot. The steep terrain will definitely tire you out quickly. Unfortunately, I had to learn that the hard way.

    Sinzig is a village with plenty of little restaurants but Hotel Tappes lies in the neighbouring village and it is a 1.5km walk into Sinzig (and the nearest open restaurant). I think it would make an ideal base for hikers and bikers.

    Cute old town centre that gets plenty of visitors on the weekends but not too crowded. There's a variety of nice restaurants in the area and places to try the local wines. We went here specifically to hike and you can walk straight to a number of scenic hiking routes on either side of the valley, no need to take a bus or drive anywhere, which was a huge plus.

    spacey, quiet, with all amenities in the kitchen, but essentially no food except what previous guests left. But shopping (REWE) is very close and open until 9pm, so we could stock the fridge, no problems. Only one shower to share, two toilets. Owner is working on adding shower(s).
