Wow, Hotel Munde, simply wow! We had an incredibly wonderful time here with our family. We discovered this hotel while travelling through to Italy, what a find! Hotel Munde turned out to be a true Black Forest paradise. The location is dreamlike, the rooms are beautiful, and our children had so much fun playing. Breakfast was impeccably organised and spotlessly clean, we especially loved the homemade granola(cookies). The restaurant staff (Jens and collegues 💪🏼👏🏼) were both warm and fun to talk to, and the food was absolutely delicious! After a week of gelato in Italy, my daughter Vida still declared that Hotel Munde’s homemade ice cream was the best she’d ever tasted! This small-scale, locally rooted, high-quality concept is the future of hospitality. Keep it up! We loved it.

Very friendly. Garage for our bicycles. Good restaurant. Exceptional breakfast. It is a buffet breakfast but everything is very neatly served in small glasses, one per portion. This gives the buffet a very neat, tidy and clean appearance. No spoon everyone touches to mangle in big, greasy pots of jam. Family atmosphere. Large bath room, good bed.

This hotel is a true gem, exceptional hospitality and attention to the guests' needs. I would highlight the fantastic saunas, the very good quality breakfast, the renovated rooms and the hotel staff's kindness. At breakfast you also get a printed summary with the weather forecast of the day, 2-3 actual events / programs in the area and the dinner menu (highly recommended). We had such a nice vacation that definitely will come back in the future.

I stayed room only. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel has easy access to an underground carpark. The hotel restaurant provided a delicious meal. The hotel provided a comprehensive booklet of local attractions. Reception and restaurant staff were polite, friendly and showed a genuinue interest in myself as a guest.

An interesting city with excellent public transport links.

An interesting city with excellent public transport links. Plenty of bars and restaurants with a range of prices. There is a large Italian presence so some good Italian restaurants. The city tour I arranged through Tourist Information was excellent. I booked 9 nights which was too long, 5 would have been enough. Like many European cities, graffiti is ruining the experience - it is like a cancer destroying the public realm. Flexibus, Strassenbahn and mainline train services all excellent - no need for a private car.

A beautiful and clean village with gorgeous greenery and wildlife. Many beautiful places to stop and have a drink or an ice cream. Lots of choices of good restaurants especially the Italian restaurant Amselhoff . Gorgeous walks through the Kurpark- very relaxing and beautiful.

Ancient town (the castle is 12 century) with wonderful restaurants, bars, peacefulness, and lots to do in its vicinity. I never had a bad meal or a bad drink at all the places I visited. The cross-country mountain biking is endless. Freiburg is only 18kms away. The significance of this for me, is the international train station, which I used for trips to Switzerland, and the Basel Mulhouse airport is only a one hour bus ride away. This airport serves most of Europe through EasyJet. The people of Staufen are also very kind and hospitable, so much so, we now have friends there. Give it a go.

This is a very good base for exploring the region, especially with the free bus and rail pass. The buses are regular and punctual, and connect with the main railway line at the next village up, Denzlingen. The village itself is really beautiful and, although there are lots of hotels, has kept its character. I recommend visiting the local wine cooperative. The local red wine in particular is quite unlike the generic stuff we are usually offered in the UK and well worth trying and bringing some home.

A beautiful town which we had visited earlier in the year for the wonderful Bread Market. We were here this time for the Christmas Market which was most enjoyable with plenty of local goodies and very well attended. Having visited a number of Christmas Markets in France and Germany, this was one of our preferred ones - too many of the well known markets are too big, heavily commercialised and this was a wonderful experience.

Bad food and really bad service from the Reception and in the restaurant. Reception would not share information on relevant activities in the area, e.g. outdoor public swimbad 1 km from the hotel. We asked two persions in reception over two days and the refused to tell what was evident on Google map. And was a really nice public swim bath.

We were turned away by the hotel as were not vaccinated.

We were turned away by the hotel as were not vaccinated. The receptionists said we should have looked up Google to find out if we could stay in that region of Germany.. I do believe that booking.com should have informed us. We had been driving for many hours from the Netherlands, I am 80 years old so was exhausted. Also the hotel should have told us before arrival. We carried on to Switzerland as the only option where we found a decent hotel. I am shocked to see that have since been charged the full amount by this hotel.

Sankt Peter is a small village in the mountains, kind of secluded and very cozy. Even though it's small, it has grocery options and a decent amount of small restaurants to choose from. Generally a local and authentic German rural experience to visit the town. The village has a baroque abbey library that should be very beautiful - visited the village twice but it has been closed due to COVID. Surrounding Sankt Peter is a lot of both smaller and larger villages you can easily visit by car, as well as a lot of natural sights like waterfalls, forests etc. to visit. All in all a great little place to visit if you want to experience the German countryside.

Clean, friendly city and we were impressed by the number of German people, especially young people, who offered their seats to us over 70s when the Strassenbahn was crowded. There are plenty of trains from the main station to other parts of Baden-Wurttemberg, Switzerland, etc., the help at the station is excellent with many DB people who speak English. We didn't see all of the old town but on hot days you can take your shoes off and cool your feet in the Bachle, as the locals do!

Bad Krozingen is an area with thermal baths. It's worth visiting the area mainly for the high quality spa services, for relaxation, and for hiking - trekking in the surrounding areas of the Black Forest.
