Very friendly and accommodating staff. Arrived later in the evening on my motorbike and they offered to let me park it in the beer garden, which was much appreciated 😊. Unfortunately I don't speak German, but most the staff spoke great English anyway. Slept in a lovely little room (single with ensuite) with a beautiful view out of the window. Breakfast next day was great also.

A beautiful room with a nice deep bathtub! We were there for the Christmas market, and didn't realize it was closed that day. Michelstadt is a beautiful city and we were in a great location for thr Christmas market if it had been open. The bed was super comfy. The breakfast was absolutely incredible !!! Lots of stairs to be aware of.

Henry and David are great hosts, extremely helpful. We spent a bit of time together in the common room and they gave us tips on the best hiking trails in the area. They even offered us their own homemade Apfelwein, REALLY delicious! The hostel is very clean and cozy. Each room has a private toilet down the corridor, while there is a common big bathroom with showers. The kitchen is fully furnished, and coffee and tee are provided for the breakfast. We had a really good time and will definitely come back.

Hey there! So, I rolled in on a motorcycle, feeling absolutely knackered. But guess what? Despite the restaurant closing super late, they managed to whip up a delicious pasta and beer feast for me. It was an absolute treat! I can’t thank you enough for being so incredibly kind and generous. On top of that, the room and amenities were top-notch, considering the price. It was a truly memorable experience. Thanks again for everything!

A lot of nice restaurants.

A lot of nice restaurants. Everything in walking distance and parking was easy (or maybe we got lucky). The old city center is really beautiful. Parks to let children play are available. Also easy access to bigger supermarkets and other types of stores.

Erbach is a lovely town in the Odenwald.

Erbach is a lovely town in the Odenwald. We enjoyed our visit to the Erbach Palace where we saw the impressive collection of natural artifacts and the armor collection. The streets surrounding the palace were charming. We were also impressed by the Restaurant Michel, the Greek Restaurant Mareki, and Da Nino Italian Restaurant. The Hotel Wappenstube was charming with spacious, well appointed rooms, friendly hosts, and a delicious breakfast by the cozy fireplace. There is a lovely toy shop with many Christmas, Nativity, and children’s toys that are made of wood. We used Erbach as our home while we visited Miltenberg, Kleinheubach, and towns in the Odenwald.

A German friend recommended we add this gem to the list of places we planned to visit. It was fantastic. Small town. Mostly locals, but you could hear the occasional smattering of English speakers here and there. We loved the Christmas market here. We got reservations at Drei Hasen for dinner. The rump steak was delicious. Trout, boar stew, and schnitzel were also top notch. We wandered the town to see the historic Rathaus, architecture, thieves tower and more. We also headed to Erbach to tour the castle and visit the ivory museum. Maybe a 10 minute or less drive. There is not an English speaking tour at the castle but they do have a written guide if you need one. The ivory museum has an audio tour in multiple languages that’s free with your ticket. I really wish we had scheduled more time here. It was absolutely worth the stop.
