This was a stay in a beautiful art deco style villa dated 1907. Once inside the boutique hotel, we entered a warm haven of a gold and brown coloured interior, and were heartily welcomed by the lady at the reception. She offered us a coffee, while she finished cleaning our room, as to allow us an early check-in. The hotel manager helped us with bringing up the luggage to our room. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated and with all comfort to feel “home away from home”. The breakfast was very good, with a wide range of homemade goodies. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

Very nice location in the middle of Thuringen forests. A lot of cycling and hiking trails nearby. Hotel itself is very nice, a lot of space outside. Very quiet location. Hotel restaurant is very good, a bit expencive, but meals are good.

Very polite,helpful and welcoming staff. It’s just a pity that reception opens at 13:30. I also wished that there would be water dispenser for guests to be able to fill up water bottles. Otherwise all was brilliant.

Very comfy, calm and conveniently located hotel with great staff. I was checking in late so they called me to explain thoroughly where can I find the keys. Still I was so tired checking in at 21.30 that somehow locked myself out of the room. You'd think they'd be annoyed since the reception was already closed and they had to come from home to open the room for me - nothing further from what happened! The person who came was so kind and understanding! Very classy! I totally recommend this hotel!

Overnight stay and everything was excellent. Impressive hotel with massive bed in big modern room, super clean shower with a bath, amazing games area, pool table, sauna, gym. Booked with breakfast and so pleased we did as such a range of hot & cold, pastries and so much more. All of the staff were so welcoming and friendly. My wife and I have stayed in a lot of places this year but hardly any as good as this. Quite amazed and would reccommend. We even signed up to be a pentahotel 'friend' so got their 10% off dinner, which was good too!

The room was nice and all in all the atmosphere in the hotel was pleasant yet quirky. It had the feeling of staying at the Overlook Hotel from Stephen King's book The Shining. The staff was a bit overwhelmed by work and not necessarily up to their tasks and the hotel manager had to micromanage the tiniest things like fixing the Cappuccino machine. We only stayed a night so I can't comment much on the facilities. The breakfast was rather adequate and the staff members all were really nice.

If you love winter sports, in particular biathlon then...

If you love winter sports, in particular biathlon then Oberhof is the place for you. Also it's ideal for hiking and cycling especially along the Rennsteig. Ideally is best to have a car. The location of the Obere Schweizerhütte was right next to the bobsleigh, luge and skeleton runs. The cable car to the top was amazing and once at the top you're at the biathlon stadium. You xan also have a shooting experience.

Wartburg Castle is a gem definitely worth a stop for the history and beauty represented there. The steep hike up to the top is through pretty woods with lovely views, and the cafe at the top has a good selection of food, beers and coffee! We took the guided tour which I would recommend.

A most interesting town with the houses of both Martin...

A most interesting town with the houses of both Martin Luther & Bach to explore. The church was also very interesting and the lady in the church was most helpful with advice about the surrounding area. Eisenach is a good centre from which to explore either by train or car.
