We actually came here looking for information about my husband’s father and where he was stationed during WWII. We were so lucky to have the office manager as a history buff and the two of them worked on the research together. We loved checking in everyday and sharing our finds. The town of Konigswinter is super sweet and has a lovely promenade by the river right outside the hotel. They had a great buffet for dinner with fresh choices that changed daily. Everyone was kind and we completely enjoyed our time.

It was convenient to train station, restaurants and stores. The room was very large and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was a variety of different options and very tasty 😋 I would stay here again if ever back in the area.

The host is very hospitable and helpful. The apartment is clean, quiet, spacious and well equipped. Even mobile charger is prepared by the host. The internet is fast. Check-in and check out are extremely easy and flexible. In addition, the environment is very picturesque. We will definitely book the apartment again the next time we visit Bonn.

    The Hotel 4 Winden is a really lovely family hotel / guest house in the village of Windhagen. The quality of the rooms and fittings is absolutely top class. Beautifully clean and comfortable with lovely little features in the room. The bed was extremely comfortable. Frau Höfer was extremely helpful via telephone and email in giving me directions for accessing my room key, as I arrived on the May Day public holiday. I enjoyed a lovely German breakfast, of fruit, yoghurt, wonderful German bread rolls, meats and cheese, topped off with freshly cooked scrambled eggs. Extremely convenient for my business meeting at Wirtgen Group, just up the road. I highly recommend this hotel.

    Oh dear... this place may have been great 50+ years ago but...

    Oh dear... this place may have been great 50+ years ago but what a let down. Boarded up restaurants, hardly any people. No atmosphere or vibe in the town at all. It felt so sad and depressing - definitely not worth taking the time out to visit. The train up the mountain was ok but expensive for a short visit - only one bit of the cafe open. Again, all sad and depressing!

    Lovely location & staff, quiet location, the town square was easily accessible. Only slight criticism is at least 3 people asked where the hotel was when standing on the street next to it, first time visitors may well just miss it, maybe better signage or descriptive flag on their pole !

    No choices for b-fast when asked for something related b-fast being told NO, honestly OVERPRICED for what they offer….I mean 2 adults in a double room for 1 night with b-fast included to pay 126 euro and not having the chance to have a decent b-fast, then for what we have payed that much ??!

    We were welcomed by the owner whilst he had waited for us because we were coming in late at night. He was super friendly and offered us more then we payed for. The room was nice and we all slept really good. The breakfast was really good and tasteful. We were positively surprised by the hospitality of this family hotel. I would recommend this hotel, especially when you are on your way and need a place to stay for the night. The highway is very close by which makes this hotel a perfect place to rest when you are traveling. It’s also close to some big cities and of course the Rhine.

    Excellent starting point for cycling trips in Siebengebirge...

    Excellent starting point for cycling trips in Siebengebirge and Eiffel (but keep an eye on timings of the ferries. Most close before 2100. For Siebengebirge you must be experienced cycler (lots of height meters)
