Lovely hotel in a beautiful location, probably the best we stayed in on our 10-day holiday cycling around Funen. There was a large conference at the hotel the evening we stayed, which meant the restaurant was busy & noisy. But we were allowed to eat dinner outside on the patio with splendid views. An excellent meal too and the chef's bread was delicious.

Small refrigerator and electric jug in room.
Plenty of parking. Restaurant on site but we didn’t attend except for breakfast.
Would recommend staying if in the area.

Superb breakfast, great location, nice room. We ate the Summerbuffet for dinner twice, it was excellent. Despite its vastness, this is a great place to stay. We could store our touring bikes indoors in a special room.

It’s a pretty town with a lot of interesting old buildings.
It’s a pretty town with a lot of interesting old buildings. It felt safe and welcoming. There is a lovely park, part formal and part wild/woodland with the river running through it. There are a lot of shops in the town centre to suit all tastes and needs. Everything is within reasonable walking distance from the station and there are ‘footprints’ on the paths which lead you around the best/historic parts.

Svendborg is a great place to visit after the hustle and bustle of Copenhagen. The town has plenty of restaurants and very good shopping. It is easy to navigate and has a very active harbor with ferries to the surrounding islands. It is very walkable and parking is plentiful. We stayed 3 nights and could have enjoyed more.

This was a pleasant surprise, to say the least! The host was super nice and she made the check in very easy. The place was clean and well maintained. And to top it all off, there was a great breakfast. I would definitely stay here again!

Nyborg until late 90 was a very busy train and car-ferry town. That changed with the completion of the Store Belt Bridge. My impression is that the town has been able to cope with these changes creating a lively newly build peripheral. The location with a waterfront in town center as well as beaches and forests further out are invaluable assets. Apart from that of course the Castle, a must see. Nyborg is a small town but rich in history, and a number of attractive beach front hotels.

If you are looking for somewhere Americans haven’t yet found...
If you are looking for somewhere Americans haven’t yet found, this is your spot. The Danes all spoke wonderful English. Also take time to go to the larger town of Svendborg about :30 drive. And as you will drive through Odense, you must stop at the Hans Christian Andersen House. Even if you don’t go inside the exhibition, eat the smoorbrot from the H.C. Andersen cafe. The best we had, by far. And pizza at Marcantonios!

Very relaxing, with nice people and lovely views. We dined twice at Firenze Italian Restaurant and enjoyed both meals. We made several local excursions, including visits to the Yohannes Larsen Museum and the Marine Mammal Center and Museum. All were splendid.

A quiet peaceful village with friendly folk and all the basics you need at your fingertips. The biggest pizzas I've ever seen at the local pizza place, Picasso! We heard the food at the bowling club and the cafe were exceptional but did not get to try them. Nice sandy, easily accessible beach as well. Easy to travel from here to anywhere on Fyn (an hour to the harbour town on the south coast).

The whole Hans Christian Anderson story is just so cool. the museum is well worth a trip. Also go see the Trolls by Thomas Dambo. there are 3 on the island of Fyn. The zoo in Odense is also very beautiful an well worth a visit.

Svendborg is a lovely seaport with great seafood.
Svendborg is a lovely seaport with great seafood. During the summer the harbour is filled with many interesting old, wooden, sea craft and there are many restaurants and bars close by.
A ferry to the neighbouring island of Æreø departs from the harbour every 1-2 hours. The small town of Ærøskøbing on this island is well worth a visit. This place is like something out of a Walt Disney movie. Cobbled streets are lined on both sides with beautiful houses all of which seem to date from 1700-1800's with odd ones dating back even earlier.

Middelfart is well located to visit other locations, we went to Fanø island, which is an incredible area, the beach is outstanding, 10 km drive on the sand with kites and wind buggies, very interesting and beautiful
