Everything is INCREDIBLE! You have to stay here if you want peace, really good food, place out of this world. People are very friendly, the owner welcome to us and explain a lot of great details from the place. We didn’t eat and he offer us the best meal we ever had from their garden. We leave very early to our cruise and they arrange the transport and also give us a lunch box. We hope we can come back soon. The view of our room was amazing, we love every detail from the room. The bed was very comfortable!

I had an outstanding stay at New Abu Simbel Tourist Hotel and cannot praise the staff and owner enough. From the first message to check‑out, they were warm, responsive, and always ready to help with transport, tickets, and local advice. The owner is very hands‑on and creates a genuinely welcoming, family‑run atmosphere where you feel personally looked after. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and calm, with a convenient location for visiting the Abu Simbel temples. The on‑site restaurant serves tasty, generous meals and a great breakfast . On our checkout we had an issue with a dishonest taxi company who didn't show up. The owner was quick to step in and find us an alternative transport. Overall, the kindness and professionalism of the owner and his team made my visit truly memorable, and I would happily stay here again.

the hotel is very close to the train station. perfect for the sleeper train from Cairo. the hotel itself is very clean - and the staff were so welcoming and helpful. a particular thank you to Madonna and Reeba for being so lovely. the room was spacious, modern, and clean. the beds were comfy and had extra pillows. tea water and a fridge was provided in the room, as well as an ironing board and iron. the bathroom was modern and clean with a stand up shower with a heating tank which worked well. the English spoken at the hotel was very good and the food, pool, and facilities were excellent. we would definitely stay again.

I don’t usually write reviews, but my friends and I were so touched by our stay that I had to share. Despite arriving late at night, we were warmly welcomed by the staff with a welcome drink — such kindness! The room was spotless, the air conditioning worked perfectly, water pressure and hot water were great, and everything was in top condition. The staff were incredibly friendly, and though we had to check out early, they thoughtfully packed us breakfast to-go. It was the best stay we had in Egypt — great value and an unforgettable experience. I’d love to come back next time I visit.

Its location, with a wonderful view of the lake and easy access to the Abu Simbel site, makes it an excellent choice. Visit the temples in the afternoon (after 03.00pm) because the is nobody (except perhaps some extroverted sceaming chinese girls - but once they are gone). Yes, it´s hotter than in the morning and the light is not prefect. but you will have the temple for yourself and you will be able to make perfect photos from inside.

The stay at Abdu’s houseboat was nothing but mind blowing.

The stay at Abdu’s houseboat was nothing but mind blowing. I stayed in the houseboat for 5 days with my mother. We both feel like we gained a friend in Abdu and hope to see him again one time. He is so kind and caring! Not only did he help us arrange everything in terms of tours (to Filae, Abu Simbel, a Nubian village, the botanical garden and more) and activities (Falluca sailing, Zaraha sand meditation, bird watching trip, exploring the Souk, swimming in the Nile, transfer to Luxor via Edfu and Kom Ombo and more), he also helped us with his second smaller boat to get everywhere, get local products for local prices, assimilate to the local culture by clothing and customs, cooked for us (he also made sure all food was well washed), helped us donate goods and clothes to the local school, and assisted us in getting tickets for the night train from Luxor to Caïro, ATM withdrawals and simcards). We truly think he has a heart of gold and works with honesty not soley for money. His houseboat has everything you need for an authentic stay. Our cabin was spacious enough for the two of us and had an amazing view over the Elephantine Island. The terraces was facing the beautiful botanical garden on Kitchener Island. Due to the placement of the boat you have some shade in the morning and you can enjoy the sunset in the evening. If you look for a real experience and want to dive in the culture and day to day livestyle on the Nile, the boat is definitely something for you. We are truly greatful we’ve met Abdu and can definitely recommend a stay with him on his lovely houseboat. We hope to see him again one day!

From the moment I arrived, I felt embraced not just as a guest, but as family. The warmth and genuine hospitality of the entire household created a peaceful refuge that allowed me to rest, reflect, and reconnect with what matters. I especially appreciated the loving way they cared for their children, the heartfelt conversations, and their openness to cultural exchange. The meals were nourishing, the environment was clean and safe, and the small, thoughtful gestures—like helping with errands or offering fruit—left a deep impression on me. I was also moved by their humility, sincerity, and the quiet strength with which they manage the responsibilities of life.

The island of Elephantine where we stayed was awesome.

The island of Elephantine where we stayed was awesome. Peaceful and easy to walk around. A welcoming little traffic free community, connected to the main city by a short ferry or boat ride. However, Aswan itself was not easy to navigate. The traffic was crazy, we were constantly hassled by locals and the streets very dirty. I did not enjoy the main city of Aswan compared to other cities we visited in Egypt.

Aswan is peaceful and beautiful with the Nile, temples, and calm vibe, but staying in New Aswan can be inconvenient due to limited food options, fewer restaurants nearby, and reliance on transport—planning accommodation location carefully is important to fully enjoy the city.
