We stayed 2 nights at Nala Narty and we had the most incredible experience. The actual property is amazing. It’s on an island in the middle of the Nile with organic farms, animals, and buildings that imitate the Nubian houses (with a luxurious twist). They offer great activities and delicious, traditional style meals with live Nubian music. The place is absolutely stunning and we loved our time relaxing there. But the highlight of our stay were the owners Sherif and May. Every morning at breakfast they spend time with each person to go through their plans for the day and help organise everything. They went above and beyond as hosts to ensure our trip is amazing, not just in Aswan, but for our entire Egypt trip. They provided contacts and itineraries catered to us for every place in Egypt we were going. After we had checked out and moved on to our next location, we stayed in contact and he continued to help us with any concerns. If we felt unsafe he came and walked us back to our new accommodation. We are so appreciative for their help on this trip and don’t know how to thank them. This hotel has had the highest level of hospitality I have ever experienced in all of my travels. We highly recommend Nala Narty.

The hotel itself is very charming in an interesting location, heart of Nubian village, river front. The room was comfy and very clean, exactly like in the photos. We felt very relaxed and welcomed. The room was silent good sound isolation, we’ve stayed at the last room of the hotel corridor. The restaurant was excellent, big portions, great fresh local products, exquisite cuisine. It was the best kebab we had in Egypt. It has also beautiful views to the River. First, we came from Cairo with some stomach illness and the manager of the hotel Samir and all hotel staff did everything to make us felt better, he even went to a drugstore and bought us medicine and gave us as a gift. Thank you very Samir and Hamo, restaurant manager, your sympathy and attention made all the difference. Hamo also offered us local tea for all discomfort every day and it has helped a lot. Samir booked some transfers for us, they were all good and responsible drivers. Last, we had to leave the hotel early morning for a trip and they prepared us a breakfast box, with good variety and quality products, even boiled eggs. I don’t understand why other guests complain about it. Bottom line, I loved it and totally recommend.

Honestly this was my best stay in Egypt. As a solo female traveller from the moment I arrived I felt like I was welcomed by friends. They were so helpful, kind, honest and had great advice. The morning sunrise boat trip with Mohamed is a MUST. It was the absolute best experience. An angle of the temples and sunrise like you couldn't believe. The food was incredible, and nothing was too much trouble. I highly recommend this new hotel which feels so good, close to everything, and the warmest kindest Nubian people. Ali is a beautiful & kind man. He literally gave me the clothes off his back when i was not prepared for the cold weather. Mohamed is joyful, honest and a great host. I will definitely be back to stay when I return to Abu Simbel.

The details... they take good care of all the details. We stayed at Benben for three days, and it was an unforgettable experience! The place exudes Egyptian Santorini vibes, offering a perfect retreat for those seeking disconnection. The staff truly made our stay exceptional—especially Nirvana, who went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed and comfortable. All staff members were polite, genuine, and incredibly helpful, always ready to assist sincerely. The property is beautifully maintained (a rarity in Egypt), and the food was consistently delicious. The multi-level design adds charm to the place, but it’s worth noting there are some steps or ramps to navigate. It wasn’t an issue for us, but it might be challenging for those with mobility concerns. That said, they have a small tok-tok available to help with luggage or transport around the property. The boat service to the island was seamless and well-organized. We only had to give them a 10-15 minute heads-up, and the boat was always ready—free of charge 24/7. Upon our arrival, the boat was waiting for us at the marina, and the staff ensured everything was set for a smooth check-in. Overall, Benben By Dhara is a rare gem, perfect for couples. We can’t wait to visit again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serene getaway.

We recently stayed at OnatyKa and it was an absolute delight! The vibes at this place are so amazing, creating an atmosphere that truly feels like a slice of paradise. The staff is not only incredibly kind but goes above and beyond to assist with anything you might need. The handmade local food provided an authentic culinary experience, making each meal a perfect journey for the taste buds. The proximity to a few stunning beaches added an extra layer of enjoyment, allowing for a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters. About the rooms with Nile views, they are nothing short of a dream. Waking up to such a wonderful scene is a memory that will linger for a lifetime. Without a doubt, OnatyKa has left an indelible mark, and we can confidently say that we will be returning whenever the chance arises. An unforgettable experience all around!

The stay at Abdu’s houseboat was nothing but mind blowing.

The stay at Abdu’s houseboat was nothing but mind blowing. I stayed in the houseboat for 5 days with my mother. We both feel like we gained a friend in Abdu and hope to see him again one time. He is so kind and caring! Not only did he help us arrange everything in terms of tours (to Filae, Abu Simbel, a Nubian village, the botanical garden and more) and activities (Falluca sailing, Zaraha sand meditation, bird watching trip, exploring the Souk, swimming in the Nile, transfer to Luxor via Edfu and Kom Ombo and more), he also helped us with his second smaller boat to get everywhere, get local products for local prices, assimilate to the local culture by clothing and customs, cooked for us (he also made sure all food was well washed), helped us donate goods and clothes to the local school, and assisted us in getting tickets for the night train from Luxor to Caïro, ATM withdrawals and simcards). We truly think he has a heart of gold and works with honesty not soley for money. His houseboat has everything you need for an authentic stay. Our cabin was spacious enough for the two of us and had an amazing view over the Elephantine Island. The terraces was facing the beautiful botanical garden on Kitchener Island. Due to the placement of the boat you have some shade in the morning and you can enjoy the sunset in the evening. If you look for a real experience and want to dive in the culture and day to day livestyle on the Nile, the boat is definitely something for you. We are truly greatful we’ve met Abdu and can definitely recommend a stay with him on his lovely houseboat. We hope to see him again one day!

From the moment I arrived, I felt embraced not just as a guest, but as family. The warmth and genuine hospitality of the entire household created a peaceful refuge that allowed me to rest, reflect, and reconnect with what matters. I especially appreciated the loving way they cared for their children, the heartfelt conversations, and their openness to cultural exchange. The meals were nourishing, the environment was clean and safe, and the small, thoughtful gestures—like helping with errands or offering fruit—left a deep impression on me. I was also moved by their humility, sincerity, and the quiet strength with which they manage the responsibilities of life.

The island of Elephantine where we stayed was awesome.

The island of Elephantine where we stayed was awesome. Peaceful and easy to walk around. A welcoming little traffic free community, connected to the main city by a short ferry or boat ride. However, Aswan itself was not easy to navigate. The traffic was crazy, we were constantly hassled by locals and the streets very dirty. I did not enjoy the main city of Aswan compared to other cities we visited in Egypt.
