- From $58 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 5.4Fair - What previous guests thought, 158 reviewsThis is one of the hidden gems of Aswan. To be honest the pictures don't do justice to the hotel. We got a river view room and it had one of the most picturesque views of the Nile and Aswan. The staff was very helpful, and right from checking in to checking out we had such a pleasant experience. The reception can also help with local tours and taxis. The location of the hotel is also ideal and you have access to most facilities nearby (railway station, busses or boats). They even packed us breakfast when we planned leaving early for other destinations in and around Aswan. This was one of the best experiences we had in Egypt.Guest review byMehfuz BasarIndia
- From $80 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 166 reviewsNubian Lotus is a wonderful place and family. Everything was perfect, the view is spectacular, the room was great for our family of 4. We sat out on our balcony with wine that you can buy and was astonished with our view of the desert, nile, and botanical gardens. The family made sure we had the best recommendations and even coordinated with our tour guide. We would highly recommend taking their package of being picked up at the airport and taking their private boat to arrive right at their pier it was a surreal experience.Guest review byLukeGermany
- From $97.75 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 430 reviewsNo other hotel closer to Abu Simbel(5 min walk). They never tried to scam me or ask bagsheesh every 10 seconds. The hotel have one rooftop with partial view on lake Nasser, and 2 intimate garden well decorated. Most of the rooms are also interestingly decorated. Breakfast was good. Bedsheet were clean and comfortable. Hot water was good at night. Slightly lukewarm in the morning but that was quite acceptable.Guest review byPierre TeyssierChina

Visit the temples in the afternoon (after 03.00pm) because the is nobody (except perhaps some extroverted sceaming chinese girls - but once they are gone). Yes, it´s hotter than in the morning and the light is not prefect. but you will have the temple for yourself and you will be able to make perfect photos from inside.Guest review byThomasSwitzerland - 6.0

The stay at Abdu’s houseboat was nothing but mind blowing.
The stay at Abdu’s houseboat was nothing but mind blowing. I stayed in the houseboat for 5 days with my mother. We both feel like we gained a friend in Abdu and hope to see him again one time. He is so kind and caring! Not only did he help us arrange everything in terms of tours (to Filae, Abu Simbel, a Nubian village, the botanical garden and more) and activities (Falluca sailing, Zaraha sand meditation, bird watching trip, exploring the Souk, swimming in the Nile, transfer to Luxor via Edfu and Kom Ombo and more), he also helped us with his second smaller boat to get everywhere, get local products for local prices, assimilate to the local culture by clothing and customs, cooked for us (he also made sure all food was well washed), helped us donate goods and clothes to the local school, and assisted us in getting tickets for the night train from Luxor to Caïro, ATM withdrawals and simcards). We truly think he has a heart of gold and works with honesty not soley for money. His houseboat has everything you need for an authentic stay. Our cabin was spacious enough for the two of us and had an amazing view over the Elephantine Island. The terraces was facing the beautiful botanical garden on Kitchener Island. Due to the placement of the boat you have some shade in the morning and you can enjoy the sunset in the evening. If you look for a real experience and want to dive in the culture and day to day livestyle on the Nile, the boat is definitely something for you. We are truly greatful we’ve met Abdu and can definitely recommend a stay with him on his lovely houseboat. We hope to see him again one day!Guest review byDanjaNetherlands - 10.0

I had an incredible experience staying at Miskaa Nubian House! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and felt immediately at home. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The room was beautifully decorated with authentic Nubian touches, and it was clear that great care had been put into making the space both cozy and functional. The bed was comfortable, and the view from the window was absolutely stunning. The location is perfect—peaceful yet conveniently located close to the beautiful Nile. I especially enjoyed the traditional Nubian meals offered at the hotel. Each dish was delicious and gave me a taste of the rich culture of the area. What stood out the most was the overall atmosphere of the hotel. It felt like a peaceful oasis, blending culture, comfort, and hospitality perfectly. I left feeling relaxed and enriched by the experience. I highly recommend Miskaa Nubian House to anyone visiting the area. Whether you’re traveling for leisure or exploring the local culture, it’s a wonderful place to stay. I can't wait to return!Guest review byMedhat - 10.0

We spent a lot of our time just enjoying Elephantine island, which is quite, safe, and very relaxing, compared to much of the rest of what we experienced in Egypt. There is certainly enough to explore in Aswan that one could easily spend several days.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
Abu Simbel is truly breathtaking.
Abu Simbel is truly breathtaking. We visited around noon on a blessed day during Ramadan, so there weren't many tourists. At times, it felt like we had the entire sites to ourselves. You can walk or take a transport cart to the sites.Guest review byHuyenUnited States - 10.0
Allow at least 2 full days for Aswan region.
Allow at least 2 full days for Aswan region. It s a great stopover for a break after the madness of the tourist sites. The Nubian village ( with the colored walls, where all the motor boats end up) on the other side of the town has been a place where i could have made local friends if I stayed longer. Of course the money making is also there in the mindset, and it s over touristic but you experience the vib of a local village if you stay overnight there. I suggest Ekadolli guesthouse for location outside the touristic area, still close enough to the village, up a hill offering nice view at the Nil. Nebro Guesthouse is better if you wish to wake up right beside the river, in the heart of the village but quiet enough.Guest review byAgnesFrance - 8.0
