The amount of care and follow up from hotel stuff once i booked and responsded to my requests for early checkin and romantic room decoration and late checkout as well, was realy raising my expecation that the stay is going to be exceptional, and truly from the moment I arrived, the experience was nothing short of spectacular. The first thing that stood out was the warmth and kindness of the staff. The crew went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable, always greeting me with a smile and eager to help. A special shoutout to the manager, Mohamed Salah, whose professionalism and attention to detail made everything seamless. The rooms were beautifully daily decorated, blending traditional Siwan charm with modern comfort. Service was incredibly fast—whether it was room service or special requests, everything was handled promptly. One of the highlights was watching the sunrise from the room balcony. True to the hotel's name, the sunrise views were breathtaking, with a clear and wonderful overall view that felt like a dream. The hotel’s atmosphere is serene and cozy. The garden, complete with a water fountain that creates a mesmerizing sound of flowing water, and couple of cozy fireplaces, made the setting absolutely magical. Sitting by the fire in the evenings was so peaceful plus being served traditional tea pot, adding to the charm of the place. Dinner was another highlight—the food was fresh, delicious, and served with such care. The dining team made me feel truly at home, even when breakfast was servered in the room too. If you're looking for a delux, quiet, cozy retreat with outstanding service, stunning sunrise views, and a touch of Siwa's natural beauty, Sunrise Hotel is the place to be. I can't wait to visit again! Highly recommended!

Siwa Tu Lodge is the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave. Located in the heart of Siwa’s natural landscape, the lodge offers a truly peaceful atmosphere where silence, simplicity, and authenticity define the experience. What makes it especially beautiful is that feeling of being right in the “heart of Siwa.” You wake up surrounded by nature, far from noise and crowds, in a setting that feels calm, pure, and deeply relaxing. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, and you naturally disconnect from everyday stress. One of the standout features is the two swimming pools. There is a warm pool, perfect for relaxing in cooler evenings or when you just want a soothing swim, and a refreshing cold pool that’s ideal during Siwa’s hot days. Having both options makes the experience feel balanced and tailored to the climate, adding a lot to the overall comfort. There are also beautiful little spots around the lodge where you can sit and enjoy a cup of tea, surrounded by nature and silence, perfect for slow mornings or peaceful sunsets. What truly makes the experience even more special is the staff. They are genuinely wonderful, warm, and welcoming. You feel like you’re not just a guest, but part of their family. They are always there to help, answer any questions, and support you in every situation, no matter what. That level of kindness and hospitality really adds a personal touch to the whole stay. Overall, Siwa Tu Lodge is more than just accommodation, it’s an immersive experience. Peaceful, authentic, and deeply human, it captures the essence of Siwa in the most genuine way.

I had another very pleasant stay at Africana Hotel & Spa. The hotel remains a quiet and comfortable place, perfect for rest after a long trip. I would especially like to mention the night receptionist, AMR (I hope I spelled his name correctly). Because my flights usually arrive late at night, every time I come he is there — always calm, professional, and very kind. He facilitates the check-in process extremely quickly, which is something you truly appreciate after a long journey. He has also been very helpful regarding invoices and documentation, handling everything efficiently and with great professionalism. I would like to thank the entire team for their hospitality, kindness, and professionalism. Once again, a wonderful experience — 10+!

The town itself isn’t geared for tourists as there are no restaurants that cater for you if you don’t speak Arabic. If you are happy to stay in your hotel to eat then you’ll be fine. We were there for 3 nights having travelled from the desert in Siwa & it was a great place to rest for a few days before heading back to Cairo & our flight home.

El Alamein and Marassi are absolutely stunning.

El Alamein and Marassi are absolutely stunning. Beautiful beaches, amazing water and a fantastic place for a family holiday. We stayed elsewhere in the area and had an amazing experience. Unfortunately, our experience with Partment, who managed one of our bookings, was the complete opposite. Poor property preparation, delayed check-in, access issues and very disappointing customer service resulted in us leaving after the first night of a two-night stay. Thankfully, this didn’t change our opinion of El Alamein or Marassi — we loved the area and would absolutely return, just not with Partment.

Was the best surprise in our trip to Egypt.

Was the best surprise in our trip to Egypt. Marsa Matruh has two of the best beaches we ever saw in our lives: Cleopatra and Agiba. For sure we will be back. We loved also the Museum of Marsa Matruh. There is a McDonald's just in front of the beach, so you can eat your "big mac" or an ice cream with an amazing view!!! The people of the city are not very used to meet strangers in my opinion, it seems that differently of Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada, Marsa Matruh is more focused for Egyptian tourism instead of foreigners, so not everybody speaks English there. Prices are cheaper than in other cities of Egypt. We had a taxi driver that became our friend even we only could talk using Google Translate. Very warm personality and we booked him to guide us in all the beaches in a day trip. We can't wait to return to those amazingly beautiful and crystal clear beaches!!!

The owner of Hotel Talid, Mustafa, and his staff offer everything possible to provide a memorable stay in Siwa! Mustafa’s son, Omar, took us for several memorable excursions - to float in the beautiful salt pools, Cleopatra’s sweet-water pool, Mountain of the Dead (great ancient tombs), Oracle Temple (Alexander the Great also visited here), Siwa City, sunset over Siwa Lake, etc. The hotel arranged for a thrilling desert “safari” with an experienced/safe (this is important!) driver, Ahmed, that could rival any rollercoaster ride, ending with sand boarding and a sunset picnic in the middle of the Sahara! These are memories for a lifetime. A relaxing, special dinner was made for us on our last evening, served poolside, to cap off the Egyptian hospitality found here. The people of Siwa have a reputation for being kind - here they set the standard for kindness. Their population of 38,000 has maintained a close-knit, very respectful, and private society with their own language (totally different from Egyptian Arabic) for centuries. We hope to return in the future. We visited during mid April. Temps were pleasant in the morning and evening. Mid day was warm. High season is October-March. Tourist buses or flights from Cairo are the easiest transportation to reach Siwa. It is a distance, but a unique experience, different from the rest of Egypt.

El Alamein is way out desert with less than expected, difficult to get to your destination as even Google maps can not work out the unnamed roads, private taxi transfers had to ask locals for direction. NOT WORTH VISITING. Sharm would be a better option if a true resort is your preffered stay.

don't go to Matruh in peak season( July & August) too many people are in the streets & on the beaches, choose remote suburban location outside main city if you are a foreigner or Non Muslim women as culture & religion are playing against you if you want to take a dip in the sea wearing a one- piece swimsuit, the city is blessed with splendid nature and is cheap,

It is a raw, pure place not yet spoilt by civilization.

It is a raw, pure place not yet spoilt by civilization. The local population are extremely friendly (you don't get to see a lot of women around - very conservative culture). The only place women are allowed to work is the weaving factory and I encourage visitors to go there to support this tradition. What astonished me the most is the honesty of the people. There are no thefts in Siwa. We bought a few items and left them in the open tuk-tuk to go and visit a place with no worries. They even have a whatsApp group for items lost and found. Humanity still exists here. If you do not have a car, tuk tuks can take you everywhere. There are a few restaurants (Mama, Abdu, Alyemen) and prices are reasonable. There are a lot of flies and mosquitoes so you need to cater for that. Kejar hot spring (hottest in Siwa) is know to the locals and Amani Yegden and it is not on Google maps. The salt lakes are a must see - blue gems in the middle of the desert!
