The Island Out of This Planet

Volcanic Lanzarote, one of the Spanish Canary Islands, features the dramatic landscapes of the Timanfaya National Park and the lush beaches of Papagayo and Blanco. Our stay in the Family Suite was very nice. The room was big, comfortable, and very clean, with big balcony. There was enough space for everyone and we felt relaxed during our stay. The food at the hotel was really good. There were many different options, and every day we could try something new. It was never boring, and we enjoyed all our meals. The location of the hotel is also very convenient. It was easy to get around, and free parking was a big plus for us. The hotel area is large and well maintained. We especially liked the heated pools. The weather was windy and cloudy, but the warm water made it very enjoyable. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend this hotel for a comfortable and relaxing vacation.

It was all good.

It was all good. We hired a car for 10 days and we visited different towns and sightseeing attractions. Texas Ranch,The camel riding and the volcano attraction. A great time had by all. We never get tired of visiting them after holidaying for the last 20 years.

Like a lot of towns/cities all over the world, many shops have closed and the city centre has suffered 'cos of the internet. Arrecife was a thriving centre a few years ago but is much quieter now. That's not to say it isn't still a nice place to go - but don't expect a bustling city centre.

Loved this quiet local beach area with a few cafes and a pleasant stroll along the promenade to watch old guys play boule. Just enough restaurants all with choice and nice views over the sea. Morning joggers and dog walkers wander and the small sand and rocks beach is possible for a paddle or swim. Close by an area for camper vans to park.

Teguise is well set up for tourists but maintains an authentic feel. The market on a Sunday is when this sleepy town to life!

the faro park area of yaza is great - quiet, a row of excellent restaurants , good selection. good walks locally, easy to walk to the sea and coastal walks into town. keeps you fit and makes room for lovely food.

We’ve been visiting Puerto Calero for about 23 years now and...

We’ve been visiting Puerto Calero for about 23 years now and we love the area. We love the walks to Playa Quemada where there are three excellent restaurants right on the shore and also Puerto del Carmen. We always pay a visit to probably the best restaurant on the island - La Cabana at Macher (5 mins from PC by taxi), owned by Darren and Debbie. The food is exceptional! Sometimes we hire a car in Puerto Calero and visit other areas of the island, this last time (March 26) we didn’t but it gave us the time to go walking! Whilst the marina in Puerto Calero has changed over the years that we’ve been visiting - the shops all seem to have gone and some of the bars and restaurants need to brush up on their customer service skills, we still love it! Upper Deck bar is fab to while away an afternoon or evening and we ate at La Portena steak restaurant and the Pizza restaurant (La Marguerite?) underneath La Portena. We look forward to returning, hopefully in 2027!

In love. Will definitely come back. To me it was the place with the most soul. Also surfers are a cool subculture, free spirit you can feel it. The appreciation for nature is big, the majestic landscape takes your breath away and it is a humbling experience. You can just stare at the waves for hours and be in awe by the sheer and raw power and beauty of nature. We loved it. We ate and drank a lot at La Mar cafe (best vegan burger) and it has a really cool vibe with good music. Beach bar has the best coffee and smoothies and also food. Everything is there, restaurants, shops, the beach and still if you have a rented car you can get anywhere on the island in 30 minutes. We had a bit of bad luck with the weather during our stay as it was mostly cloudy, raining and very windy due to storm Francis. Next time we will be here at a better time and I will try surfing.
