We first loved the exceptional warm welcome by Oscar the owner and the kindness of his staff. The location of La Casa is perfect in the most beautiful village of the island. This boutique hotel is an old renovated typical house which gives such a charm in the rooms as in the patio where we had our breakfasts. Talking about the breakfasts Oscar proposes a different composition every day with local and fresh food. It's excellent ! Finally as we are deco lovers our suite with a private pool was amazingly decorated and functional too. We will come back.

The Island Out of This Planet

Volcanic Lanzarote, one of the Spanish Canary Islands, features the dramatic landscapes of the Timanfaya National Park and the lush beaches of Papagayo and Blanco. Everything was beyond expectations! The hotel is huge, we’ll maintained, very comfortable not to mention beautiful. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was large, very comfortable and impeccably clean. There are many pools so none is full and you can enjoy it. Breakfast was delicious with a lot of options. All good was fresh and tasty. The restaurants inside of the hotel were very good as well, especially Kampai. We had a great experience there.

It has everything for families to solo travellers.

It has everything for families to solo travellers. You get from good value for money to excellent value away from the main strip. I stayed mostly away from the strip around the Juan Carlos Road area. Got mostly take aways. Local buses now accept contactless payments.

Playa Blanca is a lively part of Lanzarote. It had lots of lovely restaurants and bars to choice from. The beaches were nice and clean along with the water. Would definitely go back. It is not follow of sports bars but a variety of nice restaurants and bars some with live music. Had a lovely relaxing stay

There are some really nice restaurants in the area at good prices, a few too many Irish themed bars. Very clean streets and careful drivers. Its well worth a visit, it also has a great public bus service. No negative points, all good.

I would say that Arrecife is predominantly spanish hoilday resort. It is a quiet relaxing place with a number of bars/ restaurants where you can eat. the main shopping center is about a 15 minute walk from the beach which has a good selection of high street names to visit if thats you cup of tea 😊 If you want to do water sports, and want to paryty, probably Costa Teguise or Puerto del Carmen (both 25minutes drve from Arrecife) would be a better choice, but for relaxation and peace of quite this resort id very good.

My favourite places were Puerto del Carmen for its beautiful beaches, lively promenade and fantastic restaurants. We also loved visiting Museo Lagomar, which was absolutely incredible and is a must-see attraction for anyone visiting Lanzarote. We ate at several lovely places during our stay, but our favourite was O’Shea’s Bar & Restaurant. The food was excellent, especially the steak sandwich, which we couldn’t recommend enough! Tías is very easy to get around, especially if you hire a car as we did. It made exploring the island simple and gave us the freedom to visit nearby towns and attractions whenever we wanted. As a family of four, we had an amazing time. We hired bikes and electric scooters, which were so much fun and a great way to explore the local area together. Tías is much quieter than the surrounding towns, making it the perfect place for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday while still being only a short drive from the busier resorts. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful base with plenty to see and do nearby.

Restaurants are fabulous. A wide variety of different foods.

Restaurants are fabulous. A wide variety of different foods. Perfect. Bus stops are close by also a taxi stand. Shopping centre is a bonus if you want to escape the heat. Grab some fabulous bargains & there is also a supermarket there for essentials. The atmosphere is laid back & local people are lovely & friendly. English is widely spoken.

Beautiful villa, so lovely and clean. Great views. All rooms were a great size and the balconies upstairs had a great views. The kitchen was very well equipped however when using the oven it tripped all the electrics every time we used so this may need looking at. Apart from that I have zero complaints and I’d definitely go again. There’s even an outdoor area to do laundry which was great and positioned perfectly. The beds were all comfy as was the sofa and outdoors there was ample sunbeds around the pool and a great bbq area and outdoor dining area. Honestly I’d highly recommend you visit here if you want a chilled, stress free and quiet holiday.

We’ve been visiting Puerto Calero for about 23 years now and...

We’ve been visiting Puerto Calero for about 23 years now and we love the area. We love the walks to Playa Quemada where there are three excellent restaurants right on the shore and also Puerto del Carmen. We always pay a visit to probably the best restaurant on the island - La Cabana at Macher (5 mins from PC by taxi), owned by Darren and Debbie. The food is exceptional! Sometimes we hire a car in Puerto Calero and visit other areas of the island, this last time (March 26) we didn’t but it gave us the time to go walking! Whilst the marina in Puerto Calero has changed over the years that we’ve been visiting - the shops all seem to have gone and some of the bars and restaurants need to brush up on their customer service skills, we still love it! Upper Deck bar is fab to while away an afternoon or evening and we ate at La Portena steak restaurant and the Pizza restaurant (La Marguerite?) underneath La Portena. We look forward to returning, hopefully in 2027!

Teguise being so central made it the perfect base to explore...

Teguise being so central made it the perfect base to explore the island. Having the pool at our villa, we didn’t miss being by a beach - the closest one is only 15 mins away. Teguise is well set up for tourists but maintains an authentic feel. The market on a Sunday is when this sleepy town to life!

Good central location to base yourself if you have a car.

Good central location to base yourself if you have a car. Because it is in the centre of the island nothing we wanted to visit ever seemed more than 20 to 50 minutes away by car. A very reasonable and pleasant residential area to based yourself from without itself being a destination. We were very pleased to base ourselves there.
